WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

THIS THREAD  is for sharing what is on your minds concerning the dolphins  whether its marketing  , the value of the franchize andhow much its worth  or even nuiforms and stadium issues .

I have some thoughts ,  first   what is the deal  with the Bills  wearing  white helmets ?   several times  I thought  i was watching the dolphins  when there was a glare .

second  why doesn't  the team or the fans wear
aqua or orange anymore  ?  I have seen the stadium and it looks like a white  T shirt convention.    I think the Seattle Seahawks  have made a good  unifom change  and it shows on the  field.

every team has a dark color helmet  in the afc east except Miami   and I know many fans  dont like change  but  I will guarantee a positive effect   if we were to go with a dark helmet  but  what color  would look the best ?   I would  love aqua , gray, or black .

last  I heard  on the sports animal  certain teams  have revenue growth   and the  Redskins Dallas ,  Green Bay  and San fran  were  worth  over a billion dollars  but  i dont know  where Miami Ranks  do any of you  guys know  where Miami  dolphins rank ?

I do know the Miami Heat   is  worth quit a bit .  if the dolphins  are low on the worth vallue   then wat can be done toimprove the value of the team ?    pirate

Re: WHAT 'S ON YOUR MINDS THREAD.

Its a little overboard of a reaction Billslayer and can understand what rosco is saying about we should change some things up... While i like our dolphin emblem it could use an update.. I agree that updating the uniforms wouldn't kill me..

One thing i hate is we are always in white for half our homegames, I think we can all agree that we prefer the aqua jersey's. I really don't think that gives us a dramatic advantage as these teams that are supposedly supposed to be gassed at the end like the texans are looking better then our players. I don't think it offers enough of a benifit to not wear our Aqua Jersey's for freaking home games.

I'm thinking how good Russell Wilson would look in a Dolphins uniform.

I edited a few posts and deleted Billsayers post.  Keep it on topic and no name calling okay kids?  Now run along and go burn down some houses or something tongue

Tour, I don't know anymore.  Long is becoming a bit of a turnstyle over there on the left side.  I want to see him in the next few games to see if he can get his act together, but if he can't, no way I sign him to a mega deal in the offseason.

Kudos, I remember you making that call before the draft that Wilson was going to be a player.

Wilson looks good as a game manager, but he also has a STUD RB behind him, a couple of real good WR options to throw to, and a D that is relentless especially at home.  Wilson has played well, but he's in a much better situation than RTH finds himself in. I don't see Wilson throwing for 400 and 4 TD's in any come from behind wins and they have exactly 2 more wins than Miami does right now and most of those can be contributed to Marshawn Lynch and that D.

I hope not. We need playmakers. I would hate to continue using high picks fumbling around with the O-line. WR and TE should be our draft priority.

RE: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

Hey martin played lt in college, he could switch back and be effective and cheap. I think wr, cb, and te are our glaring needs and should be addressed with our first, second, and third picks. We have two 2nds so you would hope we could have 3 new starters at those positions next season.

RE: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

I agree about Martin. Draft a RT in the 3rd round. I really hope Miami can fill a few holes via free agency. I'm of the belief Miami will have a top 5 pick. There is not a a WR or CB that is projected in the top 10. Presents an interesting dilemma. I understand that this is unlikely but I would love to sign Mike Wallace , Jared Cook and the best CB available in free agency. Then I would draft Te'o and CJ Mosley with our first two picks.

It's not so much that your offseason plan is unlikely, as that it is downright impossible given the cap structure. Unless of course we let just about all of our FA walk. But a team with Mike Wallace, and Jared Cook: and no Hartline, Long, Fasano, Randy Starks, Chris Clemons, or Reggie Bush is significantly worse than the one we have now.

As for the best FA corner available, considering Brett Grimes is coming off a major injury that would easily have to be, wait for it. . . . . Sean Smith. So, yeah.

Not to mention you have us drafting lb's with our first two picks, when Karlos Dansby is rated the #7 ILB in the league, Burnett is rated the #2 4-3 OLB, Misi is #13, and all are still under contract.

RE: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

My offseason strategy looks like this:

Tag Smith, about $11 mil.
Resign Starks - using the Soliai deal as a base, with inflation, about 7 million a year.
Resign Hartline, and try to negotiate a deal with Long that pays him between 8-10 Million a season. Sign Clemons for cheap, or let him walk.
Target Jared Cook, let Fasano walk. I like Fasano, but hopefully Martin will develop enough so he doesn't need as much blocking help. And this offense needs a threatening TE, or more likely 2. Hopefully Clay or Egnew can develop and Cook will be the other.
Try to resign Matt Moore, but if he wants to go somewhere he can start, which he should, backup QB is a priority. I don't have faith in Devlin to win us games, and don't want to be like last years Bears under Caleb Hanie.

If Long walks
1) CB - Miller or Banks
2a) Receiver - Best available. From what I hear, there are about 4-5 receivers, with 1st-2nd round grades. I'll let Philbin make the call on which one to pick. And if he is really wowed by someone who won't be around in the 2nd, then trade back into the 1st.
2b) OT (best available, right or left)
3a) Receiver (or this is the pick I would use to trade up for the 'wow' receiver mentioned earlier.
3b) BPA (maybe a safety)

If Long stays, swap out that 2nd round pick for BPA, maybe a LB, Guard, CB, or Safety - or use it as ammunition to trade back into the 1st

RE: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

I'm for letting everyone walk unless Long's agent is resonable. I'm picking two linebackers first because I believe they are two of the best players in the draft and I don't buy the rankings on our LB's. if I can choose between Mike Wallace or Hartline and Bush I take Wallace every day. I let Starks walk and move Odrick inside and rotate Vernon and Shelby at DE. The thought of franchising Sean Smith is depressing IMHO.

Give Tannehill Rice and Tate and see what kind of playmaker her can be.  It's unbelievable sometimes.  It's almost like some of our fans have forgotten that we have the worst receiving corp in the NFL.

RE: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

Well, Birdmond, we'll have to disagree on the ways to manage the team, and I will be very glad that you are not our manager. Losing Smith, Hartline, Long, Starks, McDaniel, Bush, Fasano, and Clemons would ruin us.

You don't buy the rankings of our linebackers, and yet PFF disects every single snap by every single player on every single team. I will trust their opinion over yours.

I would also take Wallace over Hartline, but then we have 2 quality receivers, neither of whom is a true #1. Sound familiar? I have no problem signing Wallace, but he will be expensive and I think money is better spent on a TE and retaining current FAs. However, if we sign him, which would definitely come at the expense of Cook, I think we still need to resign Hartline. He is very solid, has chemistry with Tannehill, and we can't be losing our best player at our worst position, even if we upgrade.

Starks, with the exception of last game, has been a top 3 player on this team. His contribution is obvious by the fact that, when he played poorly, we gave up our first 100 yard rusher in 22 games. He is my FA priority. I would love to see Vernon and Shelby take snaps from Odrick on passing downs, but neither has shown nearly enough to warrant a starting spot.

As for franchising Smith, I agree that it's depressing. But he's the best CB on the market, and he's going to get paid somewhere. If you think our secondary is bad now, imagine what it would look like with us lining up Carroll, Marshall, and Wilson.

First off , I like Tannehill and think he will be just fine in a few years. I just like Wilson better. No big seal. Second, I have yet to see one of Tannehill's mistakes that happened because we have poor WR's.

Ruin us? I fail to see how things can get worse. I simply do not believe in drafting for need. Always take the BPA. As for blowing up the roster , there is culture of losing in Miami and EVERYONE associated with it must go.

The LB's have a high ranking because our schedule has sucked. Talk to me in 4 weeks.

RE: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND THREAD.

You don't see how things can get worse? We're 4-5, a game under .500. On top of that we lost two games in OT we really should have won.

Do you not remember, I don't know, last year? How about 2007? Even after our atrocious performance last week we're a top 5 run defense - you don't think giving away our best interior d-lineman could make things worse? Our cornerbacks are the worst part of our defense, losing our best one couldn't make things worse?

As for a Tannehill mistake that was a receiver's fault - his pick last week intended for Fasano. Fasano got off the line clean, and then on his break got no separation, allowing Akim Ayers to drape him and intercept the pass. Or the pick against AZ when Hartline slipped coming out of his break, while the ball was in the air, gifting Greg Tote the ball. Take your pick.

And I will talk to you in 4 weeks, and am willing to place a bet on my/your signature that Dansby and Burnett both remain in the top 10.
