No. We came close to winning against a good team so that's good enough.

Close is like kissing your cousin. It feels good, but then what?

If close was good enough, we wouldn't be watching Favre in a burple dress right now.

If you are going to apply standards, they apply EVERY time, not just when you want to feel good about being the first runner-up loser.

Just asking the question UW, no need to be abrasive.

Just keep the bar set low, that way they will not let you down! banghead

At the end of the first half I was ready to fire the whole staff and move the team to Canada.  All in all, the team played its way back into the game after a horrible start.

Can some of the play be put on McCarthy's shoulders?  Absolutely.  Our margin of error was razor thin against the Vikes.  And unfortunately, we made too many mistakes to win.

I guess I have to swallow my pride and say the Vike are just a better team.

Well...how bout WINNING one of those games?  Seriously, is getting close to winning enough for some of you?  When is this team going to beat good teams?  When are they going to win at home as they should?  When are the results going to match the press clippings?

If we do not make the playoffs with as many crappy teams as there is in the NFL this year, then we definitely should be in the market. Let' allow the season to play out first.

our coach did a great job with terrible OLman

we dont need a coach other than an OL coach (maybe)

we need a couple of better OL, on the field, we need to quit saving a weeks check and put players on the field

As a LIFELONG Packer fan, I was ASHAMED of the 1st half.

Although the Packers played fairly well in the second half, a game isn't 30 minutes, they are 60. I don't think a game like this alone is big enough to warrant a coaching change or a general manager change just yet.

The Green Bay Packers are a 4-3 football team, and I for one am moving on and looking to get back on track with a win at Tampa Bay next week.

In your opinion, do you think MM is capable of winning a Super Bowl?

Yes he needs to be replaced. I was a supporter up until about week 3 when I was able to see three weeks of pathetic offensive line play. Thompson has completely screwed this team by not addressing the offensive line problems and running back issues. The Vikings have spent boatloads for quality players that have paid huge dividends. People point to Charles Woodson and Ryan Pickett as our gets. How about this list(Brett Favre, Steve Hutchinsin, Chester Taylor, Bernard Berrian, Visante Shancoe, Pat Williams, Benny Sapp, Ben Lieber, Jared Allen, Ryan Longwell and finally Antoine Winfield). Half of the Vikings starters are free agents and they are all quality with some being better than others but all solid. I'm not saying that Thompson has to go hog wild but a couple more guys would be nice.

Tonahawk is right!

What would a lineman or a DL guy in FA do for this team?

Re: So are we now in the market for a new GM and HC?

Unfortunately...I don't think so. If those who think because we "hung" with Minny that's good enough...That's part of the problem. The standards are so low that because we only lost by 12 or whatever it was....that's now pretty good. I wonder if those same people who are satisfied were satisfied with Ray Rhodes or Mike Sherman. Those 2 didn't last but for some unkown reason MM hangs around. and that boob TT.

Can somebody explain to my why....TT is allowed to continue with an obviously failing plan year in and year out and excuses are made year in and year out......Why MM is allowed to continue with sub par play calling, penalty riddled games week in/week out...year in/year out and again there are those who think he's a good coach.....And ARod (don't take this the wrong way I like the kid and think he has great potential) is allowed to hold the ball week in and week out and by his own admission (someone posted not too long ago) said he doesn't think he holds the ball too long.  Anyone see a pattern here? Nobody thinks there is a problem. TT doesn't see a problem or he would change accordingly.....MM doesn't see a problem he continues to allow the the same crap every week....And ARod doesn't think he holds the ball too long. Sounds like we are well on our way to being a contender!  The ignorance of people is such a great source of amusement!!! And while I'm ranting.......... Murphy is a BONIFIED Baffoon!!
