Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Am I crazy for thinking Marqise Lee will be a fantasy beast right out of the gate? He in my opinion, is more talented than Shorts, (who is one bad fall from a career ender, ala Jahvid Best) , the team will be behind all season very likely, and no real competition for balls.

Bad QBs produce good WRs all the time. See Blackmon, Gordon etc...

Lee is being WAY undervalued by the fantasy community right now, so sign up for early drafts and take him because come September the secret will be out.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

I like the thinking there with Lee!  I compare him to Keenan Allen a bit as well. Allen played with a chip on his shoulder last year because he thought he should have been a first round pick instead of a third. Lee sees himself in the same light. Put Lee down for 55 receptions this year--in fact, lock it in visionary style!

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

If Lacy puts up 20 points in the cheat game, would you take him at 1.6?

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

I think either Lacy or D. Thomas is the right pick at 1.6.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Doc, in my dynasty league, I made some trades and pick at #5 overall and #10 (my pick).  I am pretty stacked at RB (thanks to some trades made with your advice!) with Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy and Eddie Lacy all in my lineup.  My WR corps is taking a hit with Josh Gordon likely out a good portion or all of the season.  I am stuck with Wes Welker, Greg Jennings, Victor Cruz, or Terrance Williams, Riley Cooper, Miles Austin or Kenbrell Thompkins.  I have Julius Thomas and Heath Miller at TE.  QB are Peyton, Romo and RG III.  cool

I'm thinking this will be the top 5 picks:
Sammy Watkins (gone by 5 for sure)
Mike Evans
Bishop Sankey
Kelvin Benjamin
Brandin Cooks

Am I smart to go with any of them or should I be looking at Odell Beckham or some other option?  I'm thinking Eric Ebron, Ka'Deem Carey or Devonta Freeman at #10.  Thanks Doc!

I miss listening to you each morning.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

In a standard scoring, non-ppr, league that has a flex of rb/wr

My RBs are,
Montee Ball,
Andre Ellington,
Giovanni Bernard,
DeAngelo Williams

I recently grabbed Christine Michael after learning that Lynch is holding out.

My problem is that all of the above RBs are on a week 4 bye week.

My WRs are:
Jordy Nelson,
Cordarrelle Patterson,
Terrance Williams,
Emmanuel Sanders,
Brandon Cooks

Any ideas as to another RB i could grab for week 4 and who do i drop to get him?

Currently available are,
DeVonta Freeman (hear lots of hype about him)
Carlos hyde (hear lots of hype)
Khiry Robinson,
Lance Dunbar ( I hear he could be a Joique Bell type for the Cowboys?) and week 4 he faces the Saints.

Thoughts or suggestions??

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

If Cooks makes it to you, take him for sure. I like Freeman a lot and would take him as well. Ebron is a 3rd or 4th option on the Lions and might be a bit overvalued. Beckham seems to make the most sense for you. The Giants love him and I think he has way more upside than Ruben Randle.

Go this order:
Cooks
Freeman
Beckham
Ebron

Hope to be back on air soon!!

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

SSShhhhhh!!! Khiry Robinson is a Roto Visionary sleeper this year. I think he wins the job outright at some point and the Saints feature him.

I like Freeman too, but not sure he will get enough carries to make a difference unless Sjax gets hurt.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Seems like every 2nd year back is immensely popular this year. Lacy, Bell, Ball, Ellington, Stacy, I'm probably forgetting someone.

Are they being overvalued and if you had to pick one to flop this season, who'd it be?

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Thanks for the advice, I agree about Freeman needing an injury to steve jackson to make a difference.

Can I ask, looking at my roster WHO would you drop, if you were me, to grab Khiry Robinson?

Remember I need DeAngelo Williams since he isn't on a week 4 bye.

Any suggestions?

By the I just saw that Kendall Hunters knee injury is a torn ACL and he is out for the year, does this make Carlos Hyde a good grab as well ??

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Out of that bunch I am worried most about Zac Stacy. The Rams play six games against the toughest division in the NFL. He got a lot of his yards in bulk (games with 20+ carries). And now, add Tre Mason to the mix. Mason will get about 30% of the carries right away.  All this adds up to Stacy being a solid pick, but not a stud.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

I don't think that Robinson is better than any of those guys you have. You may need to wait a bit and see how things shake out.

As for Hyde, I like him but be careful. He ran through some gaping holes at OSU last year. He won't see any of that open space in the NFL.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

I'm "watching" Robinson so IF Lynch reports to camp that will make Christine Michael expendable to grab Robinson.
Only thing about Robinson is the Saints LOVE to throw more than run and they also have Pierre thomas, Mark Ingram and Travis Cadet he has to contend with as well.

I watch the injury reports to see what is going on in camp.

Thanks for the advice appreciate you answering my question!

Can I ask your thoughts/ opinion on James White (RB) of the Patriots?

With Ridley having fumbling issues i have heard that White is having a good camp so far.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Regarding the Lynch  "hold out" situation.

Is Christine Michael really the guy or should we anticipate IF Lynch stays out, that Robert Turbin and Christine Michael could split the carries?

I still have Michael, and actually, have reached out to the Lynch owner for a possible trade, not asking for a lot, but figured I might try to deal him just in case Lynch returns (John Clayton claims Lynch will return within a week?)

Who would YOU rather have on your roster, Khiry Robinson or Christine Michael?

I am SOOOO confused !!!

I need someone for the week 4 bye weeks that my stud RBs have and the Saints (Robinson) face the Cowboys that week, looks juicy to me.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

I think Michael would get about 60% of the carries.

You are worried way too much about Week 4. Tons of things can happen before then. Just relax and let the season unfold. I would NOT trade Michael to the Lynch owner unless he overpays. You have the upper hand in the negotiations--your guy is not holding out!!!

Who to keep in 2nd round....AJ Green or Dez Bryant?

Posted: 7/27/2014 1:18 PM

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Would keep Dez for sure. Dallas will need to outscore their opponents to win. New Bengals OC Hue Jackson is going to make the offense more run based.

What do you think of Kipnis the rest of the way? Is his oblique going to hold him back from his full potential

Re: ASK DR. ROTO Post Rating (1 vote)

Talent wise he should be better than he has shown. All year I have thought that something was nagging him and he hasn't been 100%. I would keep him active unless you had a better option. I could see him having a big September.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Hi Dr. Roto,

I'm in a keeper league, 12 teams half ppr. With the way keepers are shaping up, rb is gonna be stretched very thin come draft time. I'm  talking thin like Arian Foster and Reggie Bush being the best rb's available come round 2.

I have the third pick and already know I'm grabbing Matt Forte. I can either keep Zac Stacy and lose a round 17 pick or Doug Martin and lose a 4th rounder. I've been flip flopping like crazy on this. Stacy is a better value but Martin has the higher ceiling.

Who should I go with?

Posted: 7/27/2014 2:59 PM

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

You have to go with Stacy. Even if he splits time he is worth way more than a 17th round pick. There will be a big time share in Tampa. Martin is not lock this year.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

12 Team PPR I'm struggling to decide which three I should keep for my team next year.  I can only keep one per position group.  I asterisked the guys I'm thinking.  I have the 8th overall pick in a snake draft.

Nick Foles (FA)*
Gio Bernard (7)*
Keenan Allen (FA)*
Dez Bryant (1)
Monte Ball (4)
Le'Veon Bell (4)
Jordan Reed (FA)
Zach Ertz (FA)
Ladarious Green (FA)

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

I am not sure what round FA's count in but as for value I like Ball, Allen, and Ertz the most.

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Thank you!  FA's count as 16th round.  So if I keep 3 free agents it would cost me rounds 14,15,16.  So Ertz over Nick Foles and Ball over Bernard.  My league will be voting on possibly becoming a two starting QB league.  Would that change your opinion if that format gets voted in?

Posted: 7/28/2014 5:55 PM

Re: ASK DR. ROTO

Yes, then I keep Foles over ertz
