Jason Hatcher
Does anyone know if he made it this weekend? Would love to get this kid, even though I think it is a long shot.

Re: Jason Hatcher
Yes he did. I work downtown and a colleague and I stopped by the Bluefire grill at the Hyatt for a drink after getting off yesterday afternoon. We personally witnessed Coach Brumbaugh greet him when he arrived.

Re: Jason Hatcher
I wonder if Monte Kiffin leaving will have any effect on his status as a commit to USC...

Re: Jason Hatcher
There is enough smoke to believe that Hatcher is at best a "soft verbal" with USC. Rivals did an update with him at the end of December with quotes. He mentioned that his mother is pulling hard for UL, but he implied multiple times that he is not interested in going there. We'll just have to see what happens.

Re: Jason Hatcher
An insider I trust (he's about the only one, given that he is usually spot on) says Hatcher will not be going to Southern Cal. Too big of a mess out there.

Re: Jason Hatcher
I figure with Quick going to UL that if Hatcher decommits from USC he will attend UL...Unless Stoops has some miracle pitch he can throw out there.

I don't really think Quick is a factor. At one time there was talk that the entire Trinity five wanted to play in college together, but White is firm to Vandy and UL didn't offer Dawkins.

I would think it would be a big plus getting him there this weekend with all the Buzz going on with the Football Team right now.

Badinage wrote: Why would Hatcher simply follow Quick? I saw it posted last weekend that Hatcher made the comment that he was going with James. Not sure where it came from and couldn't find anything to substantiate it. Could have been he was talking about the All American Game and was just taken out of context, not sure.

The only confirmation that I saw came from a ul fan's post who claimed to have inside information.

J.Rowland @RowlandRIVALS Coming off his official visit to #UK, Rivals250 defensive end Jason Hatcher will host #Kentucky coaches for an in-home visit this week.
Stoops and co. are really making a hard push!

Stoops and co. are really making a hard push! An in-home is big because his mother, I hear, is a ul fan. Maybe we can change that red to blue with a visit from Stoops and staff. Show her the love guys.

RE: Jason Hatcher
Stoops working hard. I think Hatcher fits well with UK's needs and what this staff wants to do. He is worth the work, regardless of his decision. Hopefully, he is a Cat.

No doubt about it, he is definitely worth the effort. Would speak volumes pulling a highly sought after guy out of Trinity.

RE: Jason Hatcher
On a side note, our needs are primarily on Defense and the Offensive Line this year but if a scholly is available once all of this shakes out, I really hope we offer Dawkins. He would be perfect catching the ball out of the Backfield.

RE: Jason Hatcher
Steve Jones @ SteveJones_CJ Trinity DE Jason Hatcher very much enjoyed trip to UK this weekend but said he's probably "90 to 95 percent" likely to stick with USC.

Understandable. Let's hope 5-10% become greater after the in home visit.

I would think Kiffin will be I trouble if next year goes like this. USC will still be USC, the coach may be different.

You know, the common denominator in this equation is momma. It looks like she would like for her baby to play closer to home so that she can make the games. If he not into ul, what wouldn't stoops remind her that in little over an hour she could be to EVERY home game that he plays in. Come on down Jason, momma wants to see her baby boy play football.
