2014 4star QB - Gillis "considering" UK
http://www.courier-journal.com...D=2012312130080According to C-J's Kyle Tucker, with addition of new UK coach Chad Scott - Scott has signed or received commitments from nine players in the past three recruiting classes, according to the Rivals .com database, including six who were rated among the top 35 players in the country at their position. He landed two four-star players from Texas and two from Florida, including 2014 quarterback D.J. Gillins from Jacksonville, who Brown also recruited for the Red Raiders. I hope he stays committed to Tech but would understand if he follows brown. Sounds like a good kid.

Sea, I take it this guy is a TT fan so why wouldn't he want the kid to stay committed to TT. He's actually one of the best posters on here from TT so lets not bash him for his statement.

Re: 2014 4star QB - Gillis "considering" UK
Yeah, I'm a Tech fan. My dad did his residency in Louisville way back when and my brother was born there, so I kinda like to see y'all do well. I I think you guys get brown and Scott at a good time. I was told by some troy fan that he might not be ready for a position at the next level. I think he was right, but he's now seasoned. He recruited very well, getting several players that we used to miss out in, and also evaluated talent pretty well at the lower end of the class

My comment was directed to the poser known as Big Blue Sea 90, whose name is an apparent attempt to poke fun at respected poster Big Blue C.
Any 4 star recruit is a nice get, but in no way, shape, or form does UK have to have Gillis in order to win.
Don't panic

It would surprise me to learn that TT fans are hoping this kid comes to UK. LOL!

Blindly following the football program and going to the games regardless of who is hired and showing full support for it. UK had been doing that for the past 30 years or so and where did it get the program? It was not till recently that the fans really started to get aggravated with how the university was running the football program and eventually some of the fans finally took a stand. If you think for one second that UK would have hired a coach of Stoop's caliber with Commonwealth Stadium being full and nobody voicing any complaints about the direction of the program then your being naive.

You forget about a Coach named Brooks.? 5 straight bowls. Yes the fan base had had enough, but we had a good run for several years. So subtract from your 30 dick.

I usually don't get caught up with stupid remarks but yours meets the criteria. For one, I bet you don't even have tickets to go to a game, probably you have never been to a game so I get tired of the criticisms that because I care, buy tickets, and attend games that I hurt the program. Honestly whiney butts like you hurt the program, and its fans like you, who will be down on Stoops sometime next year, cannot and will not ever be happy. Like some stupid basketball fans who say that they are SO disappointed in the basketball program this year AFTER winning the National Championship, so to them and you, find a new team and stay away, this program will survive without all of your stupid comments.

I never said that I was unhappy with the bball team. There are some things about the team that I would like to be better but I think over time given the talent on the team that they can be competitive come tourney time. For the most part I'm content with Cal bringing in top several top 10 recruits on an annual basis. However, I was seldom happy during the Tubby years. Ever since Stoops has been hired, I have expressed nothing but optimism so..... Going from Joker to Stoops is the biggest hire in many many years for UK and is a much much bigger hire then Brooks ever was.

Hey I know you are unhappy but don't bash me for wanting to be a fan of this program. Heck, I have not been happy either, I just don't agree with some fans who think bringing the program to its knees, is the only way to improve it. And NO, I don't think your actions were 100% responsible for hiring Stoops.

UK had no desire to improve the football program what so ever as long as money was coming in as there is more than enough proof based on their actions in past 50 years with football related decisions. I have always been a fan but some serious changes needed to be made with this program.

Unless you have been going to games for over 50 years, you need to stand behind me in line when it has come to being disappointed over the years. But I don't dwell on the past, the present is called what it is because it leads to the future and I like what I see.

Re: 2014 4star QB - Gillis "considering" UK
It is what it is. We have had some good times, and more bad times. But it did take the fan base to boycott the disrespect to the football program. The admin understood the loss of revenue. President Capulito or whatever, said hiself they had to re-vamp the program to bring back the lost revenue for academics and the secondary sports. They got the message it is simple business. It takes money to make money.

Thank you Law, you said this much more tactfully than I would have. There are a lot of things I would like to say to this clown but I'll keep it clean. I hit ignore on him when he posted that everyone that didn't like Petrino could find another team after he's hired.

I have to say the last two yrs I was down on football, but that is in the past. We have a new coaching staff that seems to have fire in there eyes. something we havent seen in awhile. I cant see any reason the fans cant get behind this team. It doesnt matter to me what The record is at the end of the season next year as long as we have a chance to win games, the games are exciting and we are improving as a team. I believe in Kentucky football and I believe we are headed in the right direction. Go Big Blue!

You are correct, but we are not done as a fanbase yet. Our AD thinks he has gotten away without having to do updates upgrades to facilities again. Our fanbase and if we can get the media on board, to keep the pressure on him to get this done. Think about it, 13 years and nothing more than pipesealing at Commonwealth Stadium. Something he is real proud of! Go back to the introduction of Mark Stoops as our HC. Two media members posed questions to Mitch Barnhart over facility upgrades, the first one he managed to dodge, the second questioner pinned him down with a very direct question and he had to answer it, and it was the lamest answer ever. I've been working on it for 10 plus years, still working on the plan to get it right etc etc. What is worse our new president for UK could have made a splash with the UK football fanbase and talked about renovations and upgrades for football and in his opening statement, what does he talk about....we need to improve on education. Go back and watch it. Very disappointing out of them. More so in the President of the University. I expected it from the AD, wasn't quite sure out of the President. Quite frankly, I doubt we will ever get much support from his office as long as he is in it.

If you think for one second that UK would have hired a coach of Stoop's caliber with Commonwealth Stadium being full and nobody voicing any complaints about the direction of the program then your being naive.
--------------------------------------------- I don't know Hop, anyone who's been here a few years has seen some rank stupidity. This is in the ballpark though! Come to think of it, some of MY posts - ones done in anger with my brain on pause - rank up there too.......
