Neal Brown has signed Kentucky's OC contract (Rumor)

Neal Brown has signed Kentucky's OC contract (Rumor)

Rumor going around on Cats Pause that about an hour after Texas Tech's announcement, Neal Brown signed Kentucky's contract to become the Cats OC that an official announcement would come Monday around 10 am.

Brown was interested in the Southern Miss and Arkansas State openings BUT he wasn't a top candidate at Southern Miss and I seen today on one of their boards that he was no longer a candidate and Arkansas State is in deep talks with Bobby Petrino (85-95 % chance he get's hired there)

Not sure if the top part is true or not just what's going around and figured I'd share. The bottom part however is true. LA Tech named a search committee and an interim HC today. Not sure why they'd need an interim HC when their season is over and from what I seen on some of their boards and heard, Brown wasn't even mentioned

A credible poster on another free board is saying it's done and he's here. Guessing he will be announced on Monday. Could become one of if not the highest paid OC's in SEC. Who says we aren't serious about football? Check out story online at HL on new football positions: www.kentucky.com Football Performance Coordinator, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Full Time Director of Football Operations. Maybe it took us being a laughing stock to get some much needed football action?

Brown interviewed at LA Tech today BUT he's not a top candidate there and I do suspect that he will be at Kentucky very very soon.

Re: Neal Brown has signed Kentucky's OC contract (Rumor)

This is from KY Cat Stats

From what I have been told Neal Brown has in principle agreed to take over as the Offensive Coordinator job at Kentucky. He signed the deal a few days ago, but also had an agreement with Kentucky that he could interview for the Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech job which he is now completed with. I’ve been told he will not get either of these jobs, and an announcement could happen by Wednesday of next week.

It looks like Wednesday could be another good day in Kentucky.

Go Big Blue!

It's where it came from. Word for Word. Not sure how accurate or if it's even accurate at all. I have heard however from someone close to UK that the interviews are over and that Brown will be here Monday. For what I don't know that wasn't said. Person also said it wasn't confirmed that Brown was UK's OC. Just have to wait until Monday I guess

Re: Neal Brown has signed Kentucky's OC contract (Rumor)

Awesome news if true.

La. Tech might have just named an interim so that they have some continuity as signing day approaches.  They definitely got the shaft, going 9-3 but no bowl bid.  Last year, the WAC had 3 bowl-eligible teams and all three went bowling.  This year they have  4 eligible teams, but only Utah State and San Jose State are bowling.  According to Jeff Sagarin, they had the 109th toughest schedule in the country.  In contrast, UL's was 89th, but they're going to the Sugar Bowl.  eek1

Wow.  Just saw where La Tech turned down the Independence Bowl.  I take it all back.  tongue
Don't panic

RE: Neal Brown has signed Kentucky's OC contract (Rumor)

Neal Brown will be in Lexington today and we will have an answer tomorrow if he's UK OC. My guess is yes he'll be the OC. Why else would he be coming here?

As for the no player tweets, Aaron Boyd was the only one that tweeted Brown and Scott to UK but that was 4-5 days ago and a Texas Trch player tweeted that Brown and Tuberville had left. Didn't say were Brown was going too

Re: Neal Brown has signed Kentucky's OC contract (Rumor)

i have felt and said all along that uk needs to spend at least 6and a half to 8 mill on this staff including the HC.  must do this to begin to be competitive in SEC and get the word out to recruits that we ARE serious about football.  i feel this is a must if we are to reach above our usual stature in football. also need to give assistants multiyear contracts too.
