Cats out to an early 14-9 lead.

Johnson and Poythress with 6 points each.

Eloy Vargas really playing well for the Dominican Republic. DRNT also has former Cards Sosa and Garcia.

Can't believe Time Warner won't broadcast the SEC Network yet.

This sec he is NICEEEEEE. Good game, UK having some issues on defense as far as drives to the basket so far. Close game

That's where they miss WCS the most.

I may be wrong but when WCS and Lyles get back, not sure how much Johnson will play;  to me, he still looks mechanical and slow compared to our other bit men

Cal is probably happy that UK is having some of these defensive issues because that means he has more teaching points and the players know they can go to another level

He will still play due to his ability to score with his back to the basket. May still be mechanical but he's not slow by any means. He's beating the other bigs to the rebounds and running the court very well...and just think, college practices haven't even started so he will get I to much better shape than he is now and prob drop a good 10 more pounds

Not sure about that because of all the big men we have and, IMO,  they all run the court better; even in the games in the Bahamas, he really hasn't been able to get the ball down low and do much; nice problem for Coach Cal to have

Its true that WCS runs the court better and is quicker but Dakari is a load and has nice moves on the block. A real space eater that will get plenty of minutes and be a 1st round pick if he chooses to come out this year.
I BLEED BLUE

But there are things that DJ does better than all the other big men, too, including massive offensive boardwork and post scoring.

Exactly. And most teams will slow it down, WCS is not a guy you can throw it too in the half court and get buckets. Dakari was in worst shape last year and still took the starting spot from WCS

7:18 2H - Kentucky 72, DRNT 60. Looks like a layup line for DRNT now as UK loses a tad bit of focus, but Poythress up to 18 points now.

Cal said Cats "came back (to Earth)" a little bit today, but he liked that DRNT made them fight to hang on to win in 2nd half.

Re: ***** BIG BLUE BAHAMAS: UK vs DR Game 4 *****

Less parity between the two units during the game, thought the starting (#1 Unit) separated itself a bit today. Poy continued to be his awesome self, glad to see some outside shots go down for the young man.

Keeping with the first unit - thought the Harrison twins played well today, along with DJ running the floor and staying active around the rim. Heck, even Booker got a couple to fall.

Short of Ulis and Towns (both had their moments), and an occasionally throw down by Lee, the second unit looked less impressive. Better competition can do that, there was definitely some drop off though.
