Depth Chart/WKU Football Media Guide

http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/sc...14_WKUFB_MG.pdf

Interesting notes:

OL: Brandon Ray (redshirt freshman) starting at left guard. Four starters are redshirt sophomores or younger. Another primary backup, Jimmie Sims, is a redshirt freshman. Cam Clemmons is lone senior.

WR: Jared Dangerfield, Willie McNeal, Taywan Taylor are starters. German, Grant, Norris are primary backups.

DT: Ge'Monee Brown, D'Von Isaac listed as starters. Devante Terrell, Bryan Shorter--both starters last year--listed as backup.

DE: TJ Smith, Rocker starters (not surprising). Kalvin Robinson, Tanner Reeves listed as backup.

LB: Nick Holt starting over Daqual Randall. Devante Duclos starting over Dejon Brown.

CB: Prince Charles-Iworah opposite Cam Thomas.

KR/PR: Kylen Towner could be the guy. Loved his potential out of HS, flat speedster.

Selfish plug, three of the "newcomers" I wrote about in my spring game recap (link) could be starters. One is a primary backup that could take a spot this summer.

Yeah I had heard something about Randall. I'm sure he'll take over once he's ready.

LB is one of the most interesting position groups now. I like Duclos a lot, but Brown even more. Gonna be really interesting to see how that plays out.

Offensive line is going to be the key to how well we do. If BD can stay in the pocket we are going to put up points. I know the coaches won't say it on the record but they think this could be a good defensive team...

I know one thing Westerns message board fans (both boards) aren't football fans...

go read other teams boards and you see way more chatter. It's like pulling teeth to get any football talk going for Western fans.

think LBs have potential to actually be better than last year group...definitely more athletic...
Randall WLB, Holt MLB, & Williams SLB w/ holt coming off in passing situations while subbing Duclos & Brown would be a tough lineup! Once brown gains experience in the system & earn the coaches trust its gonna be hard to keep him off the field

I for one am excited for football! I could be wrong, but I just have feeling our offense is going to be light years ahead of our offense starting out last season.....I agree though the key is OL, they may be young but a lot gained experience last season with Conway being out and other injuries they all got playing time minus Ray....

Defense is really hard to say, we may struggle at first.....We will find out quickly though how our defense holds up....

Yeah, Brain, I agree that it's tough to get people talking football. The crazy thing is that I think the football Toppers are much more likely to make a big impact than the hoopsters. The BP/JB offense should really be hummin' by the second or third game. The games against BGSU and Illinois will be great measuring sticks. If they don't go well, there will be time to fix things, if they come out of the gate hot, which I believe they will, We're in store for a truly exciting season! JB is building up the Hilltopper brand. I've heard the over/under projection at 7 1/2 wins. I'm predicting 8 wins and a bowl trip.

If we win 7-8 games after our losses personnel-wise, I will be more than impressed with Coach Brohm. I may soil myself. ;-)

If given the choice would you rather go 4-0 OOC and lose 3-4 conference games or go 1-3 OOC and win the conference with 1 loss?

Most years I would go with the 4-0 OOC but it being our first year in CUSA I would rather win the conference championship. At this point in our history I think you get more bang for the buck by winning OOC games against the P5 and Navy and the top preseason pick in the MAC than winning CUSA.

Re: Depth Chart/WKU Football Media Guide

Your correct we are and always will be a basketvall school..... It's just the way it is.... I am very excited for the season and a long time season ticket holder who games to games....

but yes I post in the summer and read mainly BB stuff.... always have and always will.... It doesn't mean less excited about FB....

Also I think chatter is down because most people are like myself.... we knew last year we were going to be decent and should beat UK for a second season in a role....   now theres just so much uncertainly about the team.... are we a rebuilding 4-8 or are we still and 8-4 team.....
