Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game is this weekend.

Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game is this weekend.

Justin Johnson, Jordan Green are both playing Fri night.

Trey Lyles (five-star Kentucky commit) was supposed to be in it and matchup with JJ, but he's had meningitis and isn't cleared yet. Not sure he will be.

I'm leaving BG around 3:00 p.m. for the game, should return a little after midnight, for anyone wanting to join. Would love to have some company!

P.S--If you want to go, I'd recommend going ahead and ordering tickets online. It's at Transylvania in Lexington, there's a chance it sells out.

Leaving for Lexington now. Any posters going, definitely find me and say hi!

Expecting both JJ and Green to be sore, but we will see what they got.

It was in Lexington but not in BG.....

Thoughts from game is most of these all star games are all about the guards and this one no different...Snider UofL commit is the real deal ....Might add only watched 2nd half live, will go back and watch first half later...Justin had some good moves but rarely got the ball from what I saw.....He had a few turnovers when he tried to do too much, but same token had some really nice low post moves with a few shots that went in and out...His footwork was descent and did not look intimidated at all in game, but will need to be coached up as most freshman are....One negative is free throw shooting, will probably fit right in next season at WKUflushedflushed....To be fair KY as a whole really struggled at the line....

.As far as Jordan Green, he barely played 2nd half so I have no idea how he looked...I am sure JW will add a lot more than I can but was good to finally see JJ in action....He showed signs of explosiveness that Fant does not have so with a little coaching he will be a good one and will get a lot of garbage points his freshmen season until he takes over for Fant Year 2......

Will have much more when I'm home, but quick note from the road, both Justin and Green said they were shocked at the jump up to D1 conditioning, been a real rough, sore week for them and you could see that some tonight.

They are working out with Coach D Hall, who was the S&C coach for track when I ran--He truly is the real deal hah.

Despite them both being very clearly tired, there were a few bright spots. I'll post video tomorrow or Sunday at the latest.

I pretty much agree....   Guards ran the show.  James Blackmon Jr and Quinton Snider were the 2 best players in the game.

JJ will be just fine at WKU.... good athlete/moves well and has a nose for the ball.  He has a college body....   He will be better than AA next year.  I cringed at his FT shooting, however.  uuugghh....

Jordan G. will be good too..... his best basketball is ahead of him.  He's a long 6'5 and definitely has some agility, handles and can mix it up in the paint a bit.   he took 2 defensive rebounds off the glass and dribbled down court.....  lots of athleticism and quickness.   He needs to gain 12-15 lbs.

Yep watched first half and Green played a lot in first half....Very athletic was concerned however when a small white guy threw his shot back, but looked like Green got off balance....JJ and Green looked weak at times but I think JW explained why...Both are really going to have to get into WKU strength program and get into better condition to be ready...But Green looks very athletic and I think both are going to really help us down the road...Snider and Blackmon for IU, WOW, those guys are ready day 1 to put up 20 a game...

I watched Q. Snider pretty close...  he's an outstanding HS PG.   very polished, efficient, and resourceful....

However, nowhere near the quickest/fastest guy on the court ...   Will be interesting to see how his game translates to playing at UofL where Pitino puts defense at a premium.

Re: Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game is this weekend.

Stating the obvious...... but thats the difference getting guys ready to go day 1.    JJ line not bad in a game with no defense. Just the experience alone could pay off down the road.   JG athletic enough to play but not polished enough to score much in one of these type games......

Look forward to watching our 2 develope ....

This year JJ will be an impact player for us by January because he will work hard and do what it takes.

Justin had 11 and 10 tonight and took a hard fall sounds like...But seems like he is ok....On Twitter read Justin had 4 straight shots blocked, so he must be really tired, still not a bad stat line tonight...Jordan Green had 7 tonight...Included in that was a three and a one handed slam dunk off of a rebound, so yea he is athletic...

I thought JJ played well and even led the break a couple of times and made a nice pass/assist for the score.  He definitely looked like he belonged.  I think he looked every bit as good as Jackson Davis.  Jordan Green is a talent as well but just not quite as advanced as JJ is at his position.this point.

Re: Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game is this weekend.

I know the ship has sailed on this topic but I ran across the box score of the 2nd game in Indy.
JJ played well in that game. I especially noticed the  4 offensive rebounds, 0 TO's, 2 blocks and 1 assist.

Since I am old like daheedie.   Reading box scorew is the way you used to have to evaluate players and teams

JJ minutes are 2nd only to QS..... he had 35.  Then the next highest is JJ and 2 others in the 25 minute range

JG was at 18 as high as any sub...... all playnin an all star game...... point is this adds to the fact they belonged on the floor.....

Excited for both...... I believe they both will be good..... and have the tools to be really good... time will tell!!!!
