Toppers fall 72-53 to MTSU
http://westernkentucky.scout.com/2/1261718.html
Toppers really struggling lately, lost 6 of 7.
What do fans think, can the Toppers pull it together for the last 1/3 of the season?
I think stretches like this can happen in any given year, especially with the Toppers injury struggles---Even Louisville has lost 3 straight, after reaching the No. 1 overall ranking in CBB.
If the season ended today, WKU would have the No. 7 seed in the Sun Belt tourney...the same seed they had last year to win it.
But man, offense is really struggling this stretch.

crook worked so hard to become a decent player.....dont see how he can sit for two months and be very effective......Hope i am wrong.... Just don't know what to think about the rest..... other than TJ who maynot be 100%..... our team cant shoot, dribble , pass, an are slower than every team we play..... hope its younth.... but just dont see any bright spots......

Re: Toppers fall 72-53 to MTSU
I can't argue against that much. Been tough to watch lately.
I just keep going back to those two home wins before the losing streak, against FIU and North Texas. Struggling teams, but man, the Toppers looked great.
I really thought after those two wins, "this team has really got it together."---then came the losing streak.
The difference in those two games and the losing streak---The FIU win saw Kevin Kaspar go 5-8 from 3's, 17 total points. Teeng Akol added 13 points (and 5 blocks) against North Texas.
It seems like Fant, Price will usually get theirs, especially if they can get some more rest over this 1 game/12 day stretch. The key to this team turning it around will be that 3rd contributor.
Can it be Jamal Crook, coming off that awful injury as you pointed out? I don't know. But it's got to come from somewhere if they want to improve.
3rd options have shown it in spurts, like Brandon Harris and Kaspar. It's got to come consistently.
