Re: Excellent argument against high capacity mags
It's all ridiculous. It's a liberal dog and pony show, and using the kids for political purposes is the apex of it.
"We HAVE to do something!"
"We did...we took mag capacity away from responsible people who wouldn't have used all those bullets anyway...because, uh...um...that's who the criminals are taking their cues from...and, uh, yeah..."
"Address the real issues? We are...the real issue is, all we really want to do is f**k with the people who don't vote for us."

Re: Excellent argument against high capacity mags
So glad you posted that bit. Let's see, the same ones saying we need to enforce the laws we have (which we do), are the ones behind legislation preventing their enforcement.
It's true of both sides, but the double talk and bs is just rampant on the hill.
On another note, I saw where a recent poll showed 85% of NRA members support universal background checks but the NRA doesn't.
As long as we're going to bash Dems can we agree to rename the GOP the FOSP.
This sure aint Reagans GOP...not by a long shot.

Re: Excellent argument against high capacity mags
What is "legislation preventing their enforcement"? I am not aware of such legislation which would prevent enforcement of current laws. NRA is not necessarily against 100% universal background checks but understand there will be a negotiation and being smart are not giving up anything at the beginning of the process. cgreg wrote: So glad you posted that bit. Gun Control was/is an underlying agenda for decades. Newtown just exposed a crisis that can't let go to waist.

Ammend the Constitution dude. Don't try to work your way around it. You wouldn't let people attack the 1st ammendment would you? cgreg wrote: So glad you posted that bit. Actually BO put in for better security in schools.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

He did but at a cost to taxpayers of approximately $250K per resource officer. Great plan... IOP25 wrote: Actually BO put in for better security in schools.

Re: Excellent argument against high capacity mags
One armed guard, may or may not have been enough. A handgun vs someone with an AR isn't really a fair fight. Especially if he's caught off guard.
When you factor in the resources salary, benefits, equipment, etc I'm not surprised to see the price tag be that expensive. This is not the kinda job you want to be manned by a HS dropout..
