BO parading children on stage during his new gun legislation

Wonder why BO doesn't go back to Chicago and talk about the hundreds of shootings in the hood?

He just lied or misspoke or whatever you want to call it.  Said the ahole in Aurora used his assault weapon to shoot dozens of people in a matter of minutes.  His AR-15 jammed early and he used a shotgun and Glock 40 to shoot most of those victims.

Those poor kids are so scared of guns, yet they have never been safer in their lives than when they were standing there with the president.....surrounded by guns.

Lied is the appropriate word here.

This dosn't have a damn ting to do with kids.
It is all about the fact that the meltdown is coming and he dosn't want us armed when it happens. Simply disgusting pathetic president. He is basically taking our constitution and wiping his arse with it.

Lol...simmer down.

IMO the whole he has the secret service argument is such bs. He also has 700x more death threats than any other POTUS. Reagan wasn't safer surrounded by all those guns neither was jfk.

Both sides of that argument are just silly.

Question...what does well regulated militia mean to you? Honest question, b/c it seems like both sides just bastardize the 2nd to fit their agenda...both sides.

This was just a moment for BO to get a little camera time.

With all due respect, this does not feel much like an 'indivisible, with liberty and justice for all' country anymore. For darn sure, 'indivisible' and 'all' are nowhere in sight. As for liberty, hmmm....

This was more than just a photo op.  It was using kids to tug at heart strings to set the stage to push through divisive legislation. "For the sake of the kids..."

More sinister than a photo op.

Re: BO parading children on stage during his new gun legislation

Haven't had the chance to read everything he proposed, but IMO he didn't use EO to the point it crosses the line. The controversial parts of his proposal seem to all be legislative.

He's putting it to a vote, and said any changes would need the support of the American people. I guess my question is...what should he have done?

I think we need to remember the 4.5 million NRA members don't make the nation. If we (being the majority) want these type of laws, and our elected leader acknowledges that and puts in motion the legislative process to achieve that...what's so wrong with that.

If it passes fine, if it doesn't fine, but the process is being used as it was meant...is it not? I mean it's not like he side stepped congress to enact something like indefinent detention of US citizens, or the formation of a right stripping arm of the gov like dhs.

"I guess my question is...what should he have done?"

Nothing.  This is a culture problem.  It is not a gun problem.

It is a culture of parents ignoring their children.  It is a culture of stupidity and neglect.  It is a culture of violence.

Re: BO parading children on stage during his new gun legislation

From the very small write up I've seen, it looks like he took the right advice and used the EO on mostly benign changes, leaving the controversial ones for legislative action.  Which is what he should have done.

I don't think 4.5 million NRA members make the nation, but simple popularity of of a cause is scorned by the left when it comes to something like gay marriage, right?

I'm not sure I feel good about Obama enacting indefinite detention of American citizens though, simply because it passed through legislation.  And I'm not sure why the DHS, created through legislation as well,  is suddenly an evil concept....

How about enforce the laws already on the books.  We're talking about a government that allowed Fast and Furious.

Why do we need to **** HIPAA laws?  How about when a soldier returns from the ME and while talking to a shrink- says the wrong thing and bam....the Federal Government is now involved in the patient's life.  That's the last thing we need.  By the way- doctors are already allowed to contact authorities if they feel a patient is a threat to others.  Guess what...local authorities blow that **** off.  They don't prevent crime- they are there after the fact.
