North scratches Clemson from list. Will not visit this weekend..

Per Korncoot. Says he wants to focus on UNC and Tennessee. North doesn't like how all the players were decommitting from Clemson. WTF? Really?

I like our class, but surprised at all the defections...not optimistic about how we're closing.

I think we'll close fine but I'm just confused as to why these top rated WR's wouldn't want to play in this offense. SMH.

He doesen't like the defections from Clemson, so he's going to UT and get his brains beaten out week in and week out.  Nobody ever said these kids were the sharpest marble in the bag. Good luck to him.eek1

That reason makes no sense whatsoever.

I think many feel Morris is the offense they want and have heard he will be gone after next year. Feel the publicity of him interviewing was a huge detriment. Pretty much a sure bet to ALL out there our offensive coordinator is here one more year. The numbers wiht Tajh next year will keep him up for a HC at a good program. Bet he was meeting a lot of coaches at the coaches nat;l conf this past week.

Yep, no issues at UNC or TN.  This guy has been scared of competition from Day 1.

He's been a UNC lean the whole time, clealry lacks the foundation for reasonable decision making, and has been playing games since the start. Maybe now our staff will take the hint.

We keep stuffing our feet in doors that are closing instead of looking for the open ones.

We'll close fine, but much of this mess this year lies on us...not these wafflers we've known were wafflers from the start.

Go to UNC and let them stick you in a fake African American studies program and pretend to care about you...lol.

I stopped trying to figure out what these recruits want after seeing high profile recruits commit to places on bowl probation that will last their whole college football careers.

Our staff needs to identify players that really want to come here, especially receivers. We can get someone like the Moody kid out of Conway and develop him into a good receiver. We need to reevaluate our evaluation process.

Guys,

every rival school is telling the kids that Morris is leaving. The great thing is that Clemson has a very good OC. The bad thing is that he won't be an OC forever and folks are playing that to the max.

Very true I will never understand this at all. UNC is facing more sanctions from the NCAA.

That's the same with almost every university.  OC and DC and especially position coaches move constantly.  When Morris leaves, it's not like DS will hire an OC that runs the triple option.  The staff has no problem responding to those questions.

Exactly.  I was just about to post the same.  It's not as if we are the only school with a coordinator who will soon be a head coach.  I also don't understand why every time we don't get a 4 or 5 star recruit that something must be wrong.

Re: Guys,

It could also be that Boyd is gone after next year as well and some of these WR recruits are not crazy about who will replace Boyd.

So now we're the only team of which recruits will be playing for a QB they haven't seen play yet?  Not sure why they would have a problem with either Stoudt or Kelly who is the nephew of an NFL hall of fame QB.

I think people are reacting a bit too far to recruiting this season.  We were already expected to have low numbers since we had very few seniors this season.  Of the 5 that have decommitted:

RN and Kamara were a package deal, and we all know the story there

Daniel was let go by our staff actually as he wasn't going to make it in on grades

Jenkins always liked TN and had family connections there, and had simply not received an offer until recently.

Robinson had been back and forth between us and Florida for months, and bad offense or not they are still one of the top programs in the country.

Recruits change their minds all of the time.  As far as WR recruiting, it certainly hasn't worked out the way we had hoped, but we do still have Mike Williams, and Hopper who redshirted this past season.  We'll just need to make sure the position is well addressed next season.

Re: North scratches Clemson from list. Will not visit this

yeah people need to hop off the excuse train. There is nothing "wrong" with Clemson.

Look we played the game with North and are getting burned by it now. We cashed our chips with Jenkins and Robinson and turned our attention off North. I'm sure North feels slighted that we came running back to him once robinson and jenkins left.

For these kids its not for the most part about which offense they play in, who their coordinator is, its about which school SHOWS THEM THE LOVE, kisses their azz, strokes their ego, gives them attention, these are all kids, and they all want to feel like someone's favorite.

When we cooled on North, Tennessee and UNC didn't. and that left us too far back to catch up...

CDS doesn't want to turn into Lane Kiffen and rip kids schollies away and oversign, but CDS takes kids at their word when they commit, He doesn't account for decommits at positions and he can't because of scholarship numbers, overloading on one position ends up shorting another.

losing Robinson hurt, and not because of the player he is. The player is replaceable. But his little game, cost us North too, and now its so late in the process, we have to scramble and take some guy we've probably underevaluated.

Its funny this happens at so many schools, people forget Tajh Boyd. Without Lane Kiffen antics down at Tennessee, Tajh Boyd would never have come to Clemson
