SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

Im that guy who was ridiculed the most for saying the SEC is overrated and over hyped. Its obvious the SEC officials are trying the best to keep the leagues vested intrest(Bama) in the national championship picture. TAMU is really the same 6-6 Big 12 team from last year that wasnt even in the top 5 of its conference.

The SEC charade is up...the SEC conference marquee win is Michigan NCSU, and Washington.

The struggles and come from behind victories vs Bowling Green, ULM, Townson, Troy, Akron, UCF, UL-Lafayette, Tulsa, UCF, and UTEP

Unexcusable losses to W. Kentucky, Rutgers, Louisville, and Northwestern.

Sad part is Bama will not drop out of the top 10 even though all the other 1 loss teams dropped 8 - 11 spots.

Re: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

SEC is still the best conference, but yes this shows that the SEC is a bit insulated in thinking they are BY FAR the kings, yes they are the best in my opinion but I think your frustration is like mine in that they get the benefit of the doubt and their losses are "quality" and god forbid you mention that Oregon or Oklahoma State, Clemson or Kansas State could easily go 7-1 or 6-2 in their conference some years because in their minds other good teams outside their conference are always "5-3 or 4-4 inside the SEC" yeah no one is buying it anymore.

Also, someone please explain to me how South Carolina is ahead of us in the BCS when they have one "quality" loss(LSU) and Clemson has one "quality" loss to a top ten team FSU, but all things being equal they have one thing we don't have......A SECOND LOSS.....BY 5 TOUCHDOWNS......yes you read that correct they lost a second game by by 5 touchdowns........but as long as you lose to a quality team i guess it doesn't matter.....perhaps we should schedule Oregon in Autzen and lose by 30 points......you know...so we can move up in the BCS.

This has nothing to do with the ACC. Can you read? Typical South Carolina fan bringing up a different subject.

But, like I said, this has nothing to do with the ACC because we are Clemson fans. We're not ACC fans. Are you an SEC fan or a south Carolina fan?

The fact that ya lost to a very, very average Florida team by 33 kinda cancels out that "quality" win.

Apparently, it doesn't quite work that way.

Re: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

UGA is just as overrated as the rest. Look at the 1 and 2 loss teams, and tell me with a straight face you would bet the farm for UGA or any other SEC team of choice.

Oklahoma - whose only loss is to current #2 Kstate and #4 ND
Stanford - who beat Oregon St and USC, but loss to #4 ND in overtime
Clemson - whose only loss is to #6 FSU
Ohio St - still undefeated though on probation.

The NCAA playing field is littered with quality teams, most of us are just tired of the SEC circus. Yes the SEC can pack stadiums with 80k+, but that doesnt make them untouchable.

Re: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

Cletiger is correct, we know the ACC as a conference is down, but Clemson is not and that's all we care about. But if BC beats ND, which by the way BC is looking good, look for FSU and Clemson to jump in the BCS.

I can read just fine, figured I'd ask a question about the conference that Clemson is a part of. In regards to the OP... consider the source. The SEC a bunch of average teams? When the BCS rankings cone out tomorrow, you're probably going to see 6, I REPEAT 6 teams in the top 12 of the BCS, all from the SEC. If that makes the SEC average, then what the HELL does that make every other conference in College Football? I'm a HUGE South Carolina fan (and alum) and I like to see my conference do well also. You're not ACC fans because it's become a joke of a conference in the eyes of college football. Hell Duke, DUKE is tied for the lead in one of the divisions!

The SEC = A bunch of average teams....
If the SEC is average what is good? The NFC North?
You keep talking about how the SEC is average, but what you fail to do is mention a conference that is better. The SEC is the only conference in the country with 5 to 6 teams that can compete with any team in the country. Most conferences have about 2.

Re: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

what you just said is exactly what he is talking about. If Florida is a top 10 team, i got some beach front property in greenville for you. If a team from any other conference loses, they drop 8 or 9 spots. SEC school loses they drop 4 at the most. It will be funny to see ESPN start their spinning if K St, Oregon and ND go undefeated. If it doesn't work out, Jesse Palmer's head will explode

RE: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

That's why the sec schedules the teams from the sunbelt conference for out of conference games, instead of big12 and pac12 teams to get wins. Rutgers in the big east has that scheduling philosophy down pat.

Re: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

#10 Clemson defeated by # 4 FSU drops to #17
#3 FSU loses to #NR NCSU drops to #14
#2 USC loses to #21 stanfod drops to #13
#6 Oklahoma loses to #15 KState drops to #17
#5 WVU loses to #NR TexTech drops to #14

Here is the bias
#3 USuC loses to #10 LSU drops to #7
#2 UF loses to #10 UGA drops to #7
#4 LSU loses to #10 UF drops to #9
#5 UGA loses to #7 USuC and drops to #10

Bama will still be in the top #5 even though they loss to a #15 and whose claim to fame is Wins over Michigan and a overrated 2 loss LSU

Pac 12 says hello too! Oregon, Oregon St, Stanford, USC, or even UCLA would win the SEC. Any team that can move the ball on offense would.

Re: SEC = A bunch of average Teams!!!!

If that's really what you believe im not sure what to tell you...
I guess I could use the transitive property and say that Washington lost to LSU 41-3 and that Washington beat both Oregon State and Stanford, but im not sure that would matter to you. While I understand your SEC hate it doesn't really mean anything. You are arguing for conferences that your team isn't even a part of which shows your desperation to hate on a conference because of it's success.
