I root for Auburn against just about anyone except us, Michigan, or Vandy. As for Michigan, it only makes sense. Too many connections between us (Ole Miss) and them. Think about it: Both are 'UM' Both have blue as a color Both have a hated rival named MSU Both are the class of their state (and conference  ) Plus, I have friends from Michigan who are huge Michigan fans, and they sucked me in several years ago. _________________________________ Ole Miss Rebel - I Bleed Red and Blue!

I tried to get the Old Nic....VolLock when I came to the new board, I couldn't remember the password and windows saved it for me on the old screen. I like the new name anywho.....it makes me sound younger  "my blood is red, white and Orange ....but mostly orange" |

You simply can't pick one when you like them both very much. Michigan and Florida played in a bowl game about 3 years ago and I was delighted and honestly didn't reallly care which team won. Florida made a dumb mistake near the end of the game and Michigan won. I would have been very happy either way, and thats the whole truth. A retired football traveler.

Absolutely Gatorama….If Ole Miss and ND were to square off, it would depend on where each is standing. If the game as late in the season, and Ole Miss was already 2 and whatever, I would pull for ND because I wouldn’t want their season ruined…presuming they are having a good year…and vice versa. If both were having great years, I would pull for Ole Miss first because that is where my true loyalty lies.
Incedentally, the last time ND and Ole Miss met was 1977, and Ole Miss bet ND in Jackson Mississippi. That was the Irish's only loss that year. They went on to share the NC. |

Fairly recent Auburn grad and new to the forum. Usually I just enjoy reading the many posts about College Football but may chime in if I feel I have something intelligent to add like explaining the difference between our mascot and our battle cry or why the PAC 10 and Big 12 are overrated conferences  . Newbe here....names' AJ and am 31.
Hawg fan at heart but went to MTSU. The UA doesn't have commercial aviation as a degree so I had to move to the Boro. Graduated in 2002(tried college twice, started at ASU), pull for MT as much as I can, but always went to Hawg games when they were near to Nashville.
Started as a Basketball fan early on b/c didnt understand FB, but now have become a huge College FB fan. I can sit down on any given saturday and watch just about any DI FB game on. I always root for the SEC, and respect every team in the conference. No real team I despise, but love to play UT. I think that comes from living in Murfreesboro and having to put up with so many UT fans. I've been to all but 3 stadiums, Kent, SC, and GA. Will try to hit Kent next year, and GA when they roll back on to our schedule.
Go Hawgs, and go SEC.

Hello all. I am not exactly a newbie, 'cause I have been diligently reading the forums for a couple of years (since the old CFN site), but I haven't really posted much. I am a 32 year old LSU alum, now living in Ohio. I am also a University of Dayton grad, although I don't see any danger of these two teams meeting. (They might, in basketball I suppose, and I'd take LSU hands-down). Now that I live right smack in Big-10 country, I spend a decent amount of time trash-talking over conference supremacy with my local friends. But it's all in good fun, although, I must admit that I didn't have to buy my own beer for a few weeks, thanks to my friendly wagers on the MNC game. However, that also landed me in the dog-house b/c my girlfriend is a tOSU grad, and a rabid fan. I have always enjoyed reading the posts here, and I am actually quite familiar with the "quirks" of a lot of the regulars. Not sure how much I can contribute, but I'll give it a try. |
