First Pac-12 pitch in 2 hours.

Keep track of all the Pac-12 scores throughout the day here:
www.d1baseball.com/daily/today.htm

(As well as listen live and gametracker type links)  (And no, I am not in any way affiliated with that website, I just find it too handy to not point fans in its direction.)

Thanks Alderian. I will have to bookmark that d1baseball website. It's definitely a good website.

Re: 2012 Pac-12 Baseball

How did everyone's team do on opening night? WSU went down to Miss. State 6-2 in Starkville.

Our game today was rained out and we will play a doubleheader tomorrow.

League 7-4 overall after day one. Not sure how good that is given that I don't know much about how good the other teams are.

RE: 2012 Pac-12 Baseball

OSU won yesterday and won the first game of the double header today. It was supposed to be only 7 innings but they went 8. The second game was supposed to be 9 innings and is tied at 12 in the 10th inning, now suspended due to darkness. So finish it up tomorrow and then game 4. I wonder if it'll get cut short to make the plane flight home. Often these Sunday OOC games have a time limit.

I'm becoming a big fan of this weekend. It really keeps me updated on all D1 games. Who manages the website? How long has it been around?

Have you been at the games? How does OSU look after a few games? I heard you guys got a stadium expansion or something.

It has been around for several years. It used to have a different name, but switched to d1baseball a year or two ago. It has historical information back to 2003 so perhaps that's when it started.

I've only been to a few baseball games over the years.  I prefer listening on the radio while working on stuff.  There was an expansion a few years back after the 2 national championships.

Re: 2012 Pac-12 Baseball

ASU outscored Western Michigan 40-2 over their 3 game series.

At this point I'm leaning more towards WMU being gawdawful than ASU being that good. We'll see when they play tougher opponents.

Thanks. I haven't seen it before, but I haven't really used it until this year. It's a good website.

WSU went 1-2 at Miss. State. We had a chance to win the 3rd and final game and led by 2 runs (twice), but MSU got a run in the Bot 8th and won.

We host Nebraska Omaha next.

OSU went 3 for 4 against UC Santa Barbara. The loss was by 1 in 12 innings. The Beavers have several key players out the first couple of weeks. Looking forward to having them back. But regardless the pitching staff is very unknown this year and we'll just have to see who earns the starting jobs.

The Cardinal went 3-0 against Vandy in impressive fashion over the weekend, with a midweek game against Pacific and then Texas coming to town on Friday.  I'm just hoping the Horns can squeak out one, this Stanford team is deep and loaded.

Just lost our pitching ace and another key player to season-ending injuries, and a 3rd starter to a 4-game suspension to start the season.  We're going to be doing a lot of shuffling throughout the OOC schedule, and probably into the early conference schedule.  I expect to lose some bad ones along the way, but by the end of the season I suspect Augie will have the team playing well, as he usually does.  There's a lot of raw young talent on the team, including a freshman who hit 2 HRs off Duke's one great player, their Friday starting ace.

But this season will be a work in progress for the Longhorns, so we're Dooomed indeed this weekend in Palo Alto.

Re: Upcoming games

Well here we go!  Texas @ Stanford, gotta love that this series is played just about every year.  This time, Stanford should be much better than Texas, but I'm hoping for just a little bit of luck to go our way.  One great thing about college baseball is that the season-ending TOURNAMENT allows (and indeed ENCOURAGES) great OOC matchups.
