OT - What games are u going to this season?

OT - What games are u going to this season?

On my end, I just ordered tickets for our games vs Cal and Wisconsin

B1G-wise, would've preferred to attend the Nebraska (Homecoming) or Michigan contests but unfortunately, they're going through the 'Purple Pricing' bid process at NU's site
- crappy endzone seats start at $100 ... and there are still almost 3 and 4 months left, respectively, for the cost to increase substantially (IIRC, last season Ohio State tix wound up being a few hundred bucks on average)

too rich for my blood noidea

NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS
Top-14 finish in the conference each year
Stellar 2-9 bowl record

Sadly it is unlikely I will make it to any games this year. I was going to travel to the ND vs Michigan game but my brother is getting married and I need to be there.

My wife got promoted to Captain and has her career course this fall so my travel will be limited.

Even though I live a solid 3 hour drive from Tempe I for sure will attend the UCLA and Notre Dame home games, and am a maybe for the Washington State home game.

I will also be attending the ASU@New Mexico game, since that is also only a 4 hour drive for me.

UW at Northwestern

Nebraska at UW

Georgia/Florida in Jacksonville

I might hit an additional NU game if I have time. They have a pretty nice home schedule this year.

I doubt any MSU games, perhaps the Brown jug game in AA.

Definitely Illinois @ UW and maybe homecoming in Champaign against Minny.

Bama at LSU,  a certainty.

A Nebraska at UW 11/15 maybe, becoming less likely as work travel unfolds, which stinks as I was looking forward to seeing Badge and Phil again.

no N at MSU  frown this year was planning to go, but can't w/ brother's wedding.

Big CCG almost a lock as it is 12 miles away. (see some of you there?)

Since I'll be in PA for Thanksgiving, I'll likely go to the Landgrant Trophy Game.

Penn State hasn't lost to Michigan since GWB was President.

That's weird, although I put in a 10/30 arrival.

We are booked at a Marriott.

Oh merciful Lord,

Pretty please at least one Michigan game. Any one. Forever and ever.

Amen.

Going to most Gopher home games, as well as roadies at TCU (13 Sept), Michigan (27 September), Nebraska (20 November), and possibly Wisconsin (27 November).

Also going to the Cocktail Party.

If you haven't booked yet, I highly recommend a hotel in downtown Ft Worth, not some cheap ass motel 6 by DFW or something. Lots of great bars and restaurants in Ft. Worth's Sundance Square and it's a quick cab ride or jaunt in the rental to TCU.

Enjoy.  Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to Maryland until probably 2016.  I do hope to get to Rutgers in 2015.

It is an odd statement but at the present time, I used to have been to all of the Big Ten Stadiums.  Once I hit Maryland and Rutgers I will have been to all of them again.

As for this year, I have a major project going on so not a lot.  I think I'll hit VaTech then none until the road game in East Lansing on November 8 and the final two home games (IU and M).

I'll be at the VT game next year also. (and the VT vs. Tenn at Bristol the year after that.)

I was really looking forward to travelling to Knoxville for tOSU @ Tennessee until they cancelled the series.  When I drove to Atlanta for the Final Four I stayed in Knoxville on the way down and from what I saw I think that Neyland would be a great place to watch a game.

Are you planning to go to Rutgers next year?

I am thinking about VaTech next year as well.  It is less than a six hour drive from where I live so I'd probably take the afternoon off on Friday, drive down there, and watch the game, then drive back on Sunday.

Definitely going to Michigan v Penn State, @ Rutgers, and @ Northwestern.... potentially another home game, as well.

@ Pitt

At least tickets will be easy.

I've still never been to a Pitt football game.  MSU played here like 3 weeks after I moved to Pittsburgh back in 2006, and I had tickets, and got horrible food poisoning and missed the game.  Would have been the rare good MSU JLS game to go to.  Pitt went up 10-0, Stanton led MSU to 34 straight points to go up 34-10, then Pitt added 2 TDs in the last like 2 minutes to make it look close.  Yet another case of "How is Pitt this bad?"  They have to have the widest discrepancy between NFL stars produced and W/L record of any team in the country.  I'm pretty sure that team had LeSean McCoy and Derrelle Revis.

I've thought about that ever since, I think it was, 2003. I went to a Pitt @ U-Toledo game. This was the year of Pitt in the Top 15 and Larry Fitzgerald in the Heisman hunt. And the Rockets won. And Pitt dissolved right back to the unstructured mess whence they came. I think they eventually dropped out of the Top 25 and stayed out...maybe even ever since.

I think the stars/scrubs aspect plays into it too.

How many guys per class make the NFL from a top program (excluding outliers)?  Maybe 5-8?  And of those, how many become *stars*, maybe 1-2?  The the difference per year in NFL players produced between elite programs and medium ones is maybe 3-6 guys per year.  So a team that produces 5-8 NFL players feels like it should be a great team, because they have just as many NFL guys as a great program, but really there are another 15-20 guys that don't make the NFL, and 18+ guys who certainly never become stars.  So when you produce the same amount of NFL talent as the big boys, and produce as much, if not more, elite level NFL talent as the big boys, it seems like you should be one of the big boys.  But the majority of your roster is not made up of NFL talent, and the vast majority is not made up of NFL stars, and so if you are lacking there, that's the bulk of your roster.

I know locals complain that Pitt is still trying too hard to rely on Western PA talent, that they built one of the top programs around at one point.  The crash of the steel industry led to major population dispersement, particularly among the blue collar areas that produced a lot of that elite talent from the 40s until the early 70s.  And while Pitt may still have their' Curtis Martin, LeSean McCoy, Darrelle Revis, Larry Fitzgerald type studs.  Too much of the guys playing alongside them and under them on the depth charts are Western PA kids that probably should be starting at Kent State or Akron, not at Pitt.

None, again. I dunno, I used to really love going, but the prospect of parking squeezing among people, and eating expensive crappy food and drinking expensive crappy beer really makes me look forward to idea of projecting a game off the back of the house, drinking a bunch of different kinds of IPA, and smelling brisket and ribs cooking for most of the day.

Heading to Fort Worth to see Minn @ TCU, may see the Jug game, and probably another Michigan game, but not sure which yet.

Also if Minnesota makes a bowl (and I have the money), I'd like to experience it from a fan rather than band perspective.
