Titan football...what kind?

Hey guys and gals, I came across this (your) site and instantly became confused. Is Fullerton playing football, like in American ball?

I am a Boise State Bronco fan, but was raised in La Habra, graduated from Fullerton Unified HS...and Fullerton JC, then on to San Jose State U. Back then the Hornets were a powerhouse in JC ball. In fact, back then Boise State University was Boise State Junior College and played many Cali JC's...and won an NC as a JC.

Many of Boise States best current players are from Brea, La Habra and HB. Ryan Winterswick, La Habra, will be a star in the NFL.

Is there a chance CS Fullerton could get a program again?

You have a super alum that could help your cause.

Does anyone want to handle this?

thanks you Mr. BarforD

Welcome aboard. Thank you for visiting BringBackTitanFootball.com and supporting our cause. Yes indeed football will be coming back to Cal State Fullerton. There are a few obstacles that will need to outlived and a financial hill to climb. But yes indeed football will return to Cal State Fullerton. Much like the development of Bronco football the Titans will probably start out a level below their intended goal and build into the powerhouse they should be. Boise State is one of many fine universities that has benefited from recruiting the Southern California athletes that would naturally aspire to continuing their football carreers at CSUF. In such a hot bed of talent only the myopic dogma of leaders-for-life can keep this reality from happening. Nearly a crime that California's finest student/athletes must become carpetbaggers to find out of state places to fulfill their dreams. I myself am a former Sonora Raider from across the Lambert Line and welcome another voice of football support from behind the orange curtain.

Here are the steps to bringing back football.

1. Eliminate President Gordon from his position. Buy him out, catch him in some sex scandal, etc.

2. Get students to vote for a referendum. Unfortunately, the students would rather spend 50 a week on Juice it Up, Carls Jr and whatever TSU serves instead of $50 dollars a semester on football.

3. Rennovate Titan Stadium. Apparently, the locker room space in inadequate, The grass causes ACL injuries. Ofcourse, we could try to get our games played at the recently approved Los Angeles Stadium off 60 and 57. Or maybe we can get Disney to build us a stadium and we'll call ourselves Cal State Fullerton home of the Pixars

4. Find a cheap coaching staff. I'm sure Tom Cable will available by then. Maybe he'll get Jamarcus Russell to be our QB coach..

5. Change conferences. The program will not succeed in the Great West/Big West conference because it doesnt draw a big enough crowd. We would need to move to the WAC or Mountain West. And since we do not want to offend our Baseball brethren, we would have to also lobby for Long Beach State to join to help our RPI.

6. And most importantly, we need students to take charge in doing the work to bring back football. I would say, most of the people running this effort is alumni and most of the people Ruining the effort is the students.

1. The guy can barely stay awake during Conversations with President Gordon...no joke. I saw him fall asleep once while filming these things. How can we expect him to stay awake and get into a scandal?

2. Although the referendum lost this past year, I think it could be considered a victory since it lost by such a small margin in a period of time when students are trying to hold onto every dollar because of such a poor economy. If this is brought up again in a year, i think it will pass.

3. This will take some real work and a lot of money.

4. I wonder what Marriucci would think about returning to coaching? We might get the hometown discount and he could be quick to recruit.

5. This will probably be something that can't change until we have a team.

6. I totally agree. I think, believe it or not, that basketball success might be the key to getting students involved. There is a nice relationship between the alum and the students in that area. We should be working on ways to reach out to students at the basketball games and gain their support.

Football is possible and would take a $70 ref fee to be passed and a President to support the cause....Many other schools have brought there programs back(see bringbacktitanfootball.com).The biggest positive development moving forward at CSUF is all the new student housing being built on campus and if CSUF can aquire the Hope property across the street there is going to be even more Titan students living on campus. Two developments can really help the football cause, more real students living on campus and the growth of the University of Phoenix taking away more of the commuter students from CSUF.The Phoenix is tailor made for the commutes, no drive to school, no parking problems, and no sports teams to support. I am truly hopeing more commutes find there way to the Phoenix as the CSUF campus reshapes itself. As it gets tougher to gain admission to CSUF now and in future years the critera for who gets in should be your support for the school while your there and after you leave.Kinda more like Stanford,USC and UCLA students make the cut to gain admission.

University of Phoenix? I thought Long Beach State play that role for us. The last time I checked, the misfits are redirected to LBS.  What did that sign say?  "LBS, keeping ugly chicks from CSUF since ????!

We will have our football team, there is no doubt about it.  A sustained effort will get it done.

Very true man. I think while we are going through our 'sleeping' period before we bring back football we should work on fixing any loose ends that may cause a problem. Stadium issues, conference issues, even little details such as practice fields should be thought out. I'm sure the anti-football people will trip us up on even the smallest details

SigmaNu- It may be easier than we think to join the WAC or Mountain West. Both of those conferences would love to add the Southern California market to their conference. The problem with the referendum was the people's perception of how it was going to affect them. Even though it was a small margin of lost, we cant forget how the pro-athletics people manipulated the vote. Reading comments from people on daily titan, facebook, etc, i have a feeling if there was another vote it would of had the same outcome with a larger margin.
