Mr. Johnson I would be so happy to meet you!  I know you said you prefer to not sit behind the bench so as not to distract your son -- maybe we could meet in that area before the game?  I'll be there by 6:30!

Re: UC Davis Game Thread

Big road win for the Titans.

First off, watching the game on my iPad was awesome. Really hope the Big West starts putting all their games on UStream.

Second, when you hit from outside, it's amazing how much easier it is to drive to the basket. The Titans are the best team in the conference when they hit 55% or better. cool  They did seem to move the ball around much more to get better open looks. Need that to continue but will also need to find a way to play better defense to get some wins over the top tier teams.

They will have another shot at one on Saturday in UoP. Would be huge if they can pull off the upset but this team is easy to predict: Hit a good percentage from outside and they likely will pull out the win. If not, they will lose. This does not take away the fact that they are always an entertaining team to watch.

Great win!  Suffice to say, we really needed that one.  At the risk of sounding defeatest, beating UOP will be a much more difficult challenge.  We couldn't afford to come home 0-2.  For the record, 2-0 would be fantastic!  Let's knock down our shots!

I was at the women's game last night, and Steve DiTolla was monitoring the score on his cell phone.  Jim Donovan, Steve Walk and I were huddled around for the final minutes.  Great win!

Obviously, each win helps Coach Newman's efforts to obtain a contract.

Great win!  The only troubling thing is that we always have to shoot 50% plus from 3 to grind one out.  On the plus side, actually outrebounded Davis 30-26!!!!!! Well done.

Re: UC Davis Game Thread

Nobody can guard us man to man, and they actually moved against the zone instead of just passing around the perimeter.

They were so hot, I laughed out loud a few times. It was crazy.

Titans seemed to get every lose ball, and forced TOs out of nowhere. Alex Harris was all over the place, to quote TC, he looked 7 feet tall on a few occasions.

Pacific sucks.

Go Titans!

RE: UC Davis Game Thread

I repeat.... Great game for the Titans...

While I was listening to the game, I couldn't help but feel envious about the fact:
1 - they have a radio station that broadcasts games (would be nice for this on campus for those of us not able to get internet)
2 - one of their sponsors is a local brewery that developed a beer for the school. (Aggie Lager?)
3 - oh yeah, UC schools can sell beer or wine at games... when will this change for CSU schools?
4 - back to #2, if Cal State changes and allows beer, wouldn't you like a Titan Tumbler of Stout or Ale or something?

again, good job Titans... Beat the Tigers!

Bootlegger's Brewery in Ftown is fantastic.

If you haven't been, go.

www.bootleggersbrewery.com/

Small batch brews on a rotating basis.

RE: UC Davis Game Thread

That's sounds pretty good....
Now all we need is for the Cal State System to allow sell of beer at events and have a cold Tuffy Ale while watching games. (both Basketball and hot Baseball night/days)

RE: UC Davis Game Thread

we need a portion of the patio outside the front of the gym to become like The Vatican or Monaco...kind of a Principality, it's own little nation that sells beer

Re: UC Davis Game Thread

Above the weird art thing on the front of HTG is a beautiful outside patio. It is the perfect place for pre-game gatherings --- with beer---- sponsored by Titan Boosters. Look up next time you go in to the gym and you will see it. It could hold 100 people.
