Hope International Game Thread
Hope Website: http://www.hiuroyals.com/sport/0/1.phpCSF Release: http://www.fullertontitans.com.../20121221m4fmmy Marquis Horne status taken out of release. Is that good news or bad news? A little -- no, a lot -- worrisome considering he was not at the last game. He is still on the roster, but then again, so is John Underwood. And here is a preview of tonight's game

Just speculating like everyone else. If he injured his shoulder again, he may be done playing.

Looking ahead!
I am really worried about the game with UCSB. That freshman Taran Brown is playing like a veteran and we have no one who could match up with him. I think we have enough challenge trying to contain Al Williams.
Marquis Horne and Darius Nelson should be able to help, us if they can play 10 minutes each on crutches.

Is the schudele right? The Titans are playing in Hawaii on January 3 9PM, then in Northridge on January 5 7:05 PM?
That would be a really tough trip to get a win.

Re: Hope International Game Thread
It was interesting sitting behind Bruce Bowen and in front of Alex Harris's fans/family. I also was impressed that Coach Newman took advantage if the opportunity to get every player some time on the court during the game, and not only in the last thirty seconds. Saw execution of some well-planned plays, not just run-and-shoot. Of course, Jared Brandon was outstanding, but I am concerned that a better opponent (UCSB) will get wise to him early on and shut him down.

Re: Hope International Game Thread
That would be great that UCSB tried to shut down our fifth best player and fifth option in our offense, that would mean Seely, Vaughn, Yeager and Harris wouldn't get as much attention. Some how, I doubt that Coach Williams is designing defenses to shut down Jared. Good for us if he is. --------------------------------------------- --- titanhoopster wrote:

Ahhh Rufus, I don't think it would take designing an entire defense for one of the UCSB players to actually guard Jared. HUI didn't pay him any attention for most of the game...those knife-sharp bounce passes have been blocked in the paint before. Good for us, yes, but a stronger team with players with more court vision will at least make an attempt.

Still don't think Coach Williams will even mention his name. Not even as an after thought. If he does, good for us.

I don't agree with Rufus much...Maybe not at all most of the time...But I do agree with what he is saying...I missed the game saturday due to my other son's game...The UCSB game will be interesting for my family because they are recruiting my younger son... We took an unoffcial this summer and met Coach Williams and the staff...I do have a concern with Yeager because he is shooting 34% in the last 4 games... That could be a problem...

RE: Hope International Game Thread
I agree with your concerns re Yeager... he has been shooting below his earlier average. We live & die by the 3, so Sammy 's shooting will determine a lot how teams play against us.

I am beginning to doubt what I heard.

Re: Hope International Game Thread
Horne, McClellan and Nelson were all missing at the game. Back in the day redshirts and injured players were allowed to go visit family at Christmas. Were they excused from attending the game the other night?
Regarding Sammy, he gets very discouraged, easily. He has so much talent, but he disappears for lengthy parts of the game. I wish he would just go out there and light 'em up! Seems like coach has lost the ability to motivate him.
Regarding Jared, most of his under the basket makes would not have been available against a taller, more athletic opponent. PK, since you brought it up, I believe you were not the first to comment on him. Look it up...
Mr. Johnson, has your younger son considered CSUF? Any kid the character of you and your son is someone we would love to see here at CSUF.
Lastly, it was an honor to host the distinguished Bruce Bowen the other night!
