Agreed.  Also great leaping ability.  He played larger than his actual size.  I would, however, like to see Deuce Johnson put the ball in the basket.

Sammy Yeager had an off shooting night, but I will write that off to first game excitement.  He has been sitting for a long time.

Horne threw a couple of real nice passes. Deuce was getting pushed away from the hoop on his jump hooks.

I was also really impressed with Alex Harris. I said this in the preview :

Still getting a feel for his specialty but I think he may be one of the better defenders on the team. He is super quick and explosive and surprisingly has a pretty good outside shot.

Replace 'think' with 'know'. I would not be surprised if he leads the team in steals. On offense, he is going to be breaking many ankles.

As Kirk said about Yeagar, he had an off-night but that was still pretty fun to watch and he is going to have some amazing games in the near future. The big thing I loved was that he never got down and played some great defense throughout.

In other areas, I really do miss John Underwood. I was looking forward to see how he improved once he started getting significant playing time. Still hope for the best for him and his family.

Without JU and McClellen (if he doesn't get the waiver), we are simply going to be at a big disadvantage rebounding-wise but I think we can make up for it in steals, taking charges and hustle plays.

Noted from the Box Score, Alex Harris came off the bench and logged more minutes than any one of the starters.

I think another name to be mentioned and give credit to is Jared Brandon! He looks great for a freshman, great reach and leaping ability, also has a shot

from watching Yeagar's shooting exhibition on youtube earlier this year, perhaps we should get his girlfriend to sit on the bench, he apparently shoots much better with her close by

I was not as impressed with Alex Harris.  Good athlete and defender, lots of potential in his shot, but made quite a few mental mistakes.  Let's hope it was first game jitters.
