i think it may be a win, win for each program

there has been to much water under the bridge with coach nutt
and the coach fan relationship is i believe beyond repair

coach nutt may do very well at baylor , you are in the middle of  a fertile texas
recruiting area, nutts physical brand of football may do well in the big 12,
for example nutts record against texas is 3 - 1 ...would you be happy with
that record against the longhorns

BU hasn't done to well lately but dominating Texas is something Baylor has done before. From 1988-1992 Baylor was 4-1 against Texas. So yes i'd take a record like that against Texas again, BU is due.

I like Baylor too much to see you guys get saddled with Houston Nutt.

Please...HEED THIS WARNING...do NOT hire Nutt.

Take time to read this blog...it will be worth your time.  As with any blog, scroll down to the bottom and read up.  It is very long, so you may not want to read the entire thing.  However, be sure and note the dates as some of it builds upon itself.  http://realhognews.blogspot.com/

hey baylor fans...little word of caution..do NOT hire houston nutt as your coach..we would love to get rid of him one way or another but not to a good school like baylor...he is deceitful, never takes the blame, had a major hand in running off a nationally recognized quarterback and offensice coordinator, his ego makes him think he is bigger than the program and lack of team development, lack of game management, poor play calling, and can go on and on and on..if yall hire him, dont say you werent warned...he is one lousy coach and will always be mediocre..good luck in the rest of your games

Thanks for the input. We are a little shell-shocked after the last few games - Baylor fans don't know what to do at this point.

All that you say is probably true and he is still about a 200% improvement over what BU presently has for their HC.

Nutt appears done at Arkansas, he may be a good fit for BU.

Nutt is NOT an improvement, trust me.

With McFadden (likely #1 pick in draft), Felix Jones (late 1st, early 2nd round pick), Peyton Hillis (1st FB to be taken in draft) and Marcus Monk (WR who will be gone by 3rd round), Nutt is now 20-15 overall.  He is likely to be 20-17 after we lose to MS State and LSU the next two weeks.  With that talent of offense and his poor record, how could he be an improvement?

Plus, his integrity makes him one of the slimiest coaches out there.  His wife is even worse.  An email sent by Nutt's wife which is part of legal action released this past week said she wanted to beat up a player's mother with a 2x4.  She was referring to an incident in which Mitch Mustain's mother was assaulted by former tenants after she evicted them.  The tenants were sent to prison for the incident.  Diana Nutt said in the email she wishes she were there to help and was glad it happened to her.

Do you really want this at Baylor?  IF you are going to throw morals and integrity out the window, at least get someone who will win you some games.

Re: Houston Nutt Rumor?

Sorry guys . . . you'd be better off to ignore the General.  He's so caught up in his anti-Nutt agenda that he cannt see the good things HDN will bring to Baylor, should he end up there.  In fact, fans like the General are a large part of the reason that Houston will not finish his career at Arkansas.

I will warn you now that when the General see's this post, he will jump up and attack me and continue to post all sort of "vile facts" about Nutt.  Well, don't worry . . . I will NOT argue with him on your board, and I suggest that none of you do either or it will bog this board down.

I believe that if given a chance, HDN will bring a solid, competitive program to Baylor.  From my vantage point, I don't know that Baylor will ever be on a competitive "even footing" with Texas and Oklahoma, but that doesn't mean they can't beat them 30-40% of the time and fare favorably with the rest of the Big 12.  I know this may come off as elitist, and I'm honestly NOT trying to do so, but part of Houston's "problem" was playing a schedule that included Alabama, Auburn, LSU, S. Carolina, and Tennessee, Florida and/or Georgia EVERY season.  Not to mention USC (S. Califonia) or Texas 4 of the past 5 seasons.  That's a gauntlet!  Houston should do well against a diet of Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Tech, Kansas (yes, they're good this year), KSU, Mizzou, etc.

Best wishes, if this comes about.  Now, I've got to find a bunker before the General starts aiming his bazookas at me!

You won't see any attacks from me.  I think Wizard is a good poster and I enjoy reading his posts even today.  I have no requirement you must agree with everything I say to like someone.  Otherwise, why come to a "discussion board"???

Fans like myself have season tickets, go to away games, go to bowl games, donate to the Razorback Foundation and buy licensend merchandise.  Also have season tickets to basketball, baseball and T&F.  I have been no part whatsoever of the perceived behavior Wizard is alluding to such as flying anti-Nutt banners, calling into radio shows, etc.  All I have done is show up and support the team like I've been doing since I was a little kid.  FWIW, my first Razorback game was against the Baylor Bears back in the mid-70's.

Wizard is correct in that I've wanted to hire a replacement for Nutt since the 2003 season.  Since then, Nutt is 14-17 in the SEC.  If you take out the two MS schools who have been cellar dwellars, Nutt is 8-17 in the SEC.  So I ask you, was I wrong in my assessment of Nutt re: his on-the-field performance?

With Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis and Marcus Monk (all 4 of whom will be taken in 1st 3 rounds of NFL draft) as skill players since 2005, Nutt is 11-12 (7-12 vs. non-MS schools) in the SEC.  It will be a LONG time before Arkansas has a collection of talent at one time including a Doak Walker winner, Heisman runner up, 4 All-SEC players and 3 All Americans in the backfield and at WR.

If being dissatisfied with results on the field makes me a bad fan, so be it.  If wanting to maximize our potential for success earns me the label of having an agenda, so be it.  It's my opinion Nutt will never be successful in a BCS conference.  And it's also my opinion Baylor could do better.  You can go ask on the Boise State board and they will tell you the same thing.  I would also encourage you to go to the Tennessee board and ask their opinion of how well coached Arkansas was last Saturday in Knoxville.  I don't expect you to automatically believe my opinion and I encourage you to go to other boards around the SEC and see what they think.

Good luck, Bears.

Re: Houston Nutt Rumor?

Houston Nutt is good coach. He will do well at Baylor. He just needs to be at a school that has an intelligent fan base so it will be a vast improvement from Arky to Baylor. The nationally know QB and his mother tried to run the program. Arky fans were so blinded by the QB that they too, forgot who was the coach and who was the player.

Good luck to Baylor.

Any job would look good to Nutt if it got him out of "R"Kansas with their delusional fan base. I think he would be very fortunate to get the Baylor position nd would do a good job. The biggest question is who in their right mind would want to be the heard coach at "R"Kansas? They will have an even more difficult time finding a football coach than they did a basketball coach and we all remember the joke they became in trying to hire one!

Why would Baylor want Nutt?  He had everything at Arkansas..... facilities, history, good recruiting base, and still did very little. Whats he going to do at Baylor ?

The basketball search was run by Frank Broyles.  He botched the job.  Two days after the Chancellor hired a search firm out of ATL to take over, we had Pelphrey.  Broyles had no say on his replacement and he will have no say in the search for our new football coach.  Therefore, there will be no repeat performance.

Re: Houston Nutt Rumor?

Ask yourself this question.

Is the Southeastern Conference a top conference?

Coach Nutt was SEC coach of the year LY.

He dominates the run game.  Arkansas fans are just tired of a good run game.

He's not going anywhere.  Unless he wants to.

Most negativity comes from NW Arkansas people that are mad because Houston Nutt didn't put up with bratty players and coaches.

RIP OVER50
