Out on a Limb

Out on a Limb

It may sound funny, but I am going to go out on a limb.

But it would not really surprise me if the Bears played the socks off KSU this weekend. Will the Bears get the win? I don't know, but I believe that it may be pretty close game.

Why? We had some shots against OU this weekend -- a sure TD grab dropped, a few overthrows in deep balls by Florence -- but the opportunities were there. It did not sound like OU (both team & coaches) were that thrilled with the win. I think they felt it would be a complete blowout. And it was not.

Also, we have a rejuvenated running game the last couple of weeks. As I stated in a post prior to KU, that could help us immensely. It is giving our defense some much needed rest. OU got some yards, but they did not annhilate us as I believe they expected. Are we there yet on defense? No. But we finally seem to be moving more in the right direction.

Turnovers the last 2 weeks. We have cut them down drastically and taken much better care of the ball. And we have gotten some from opposing offenses.

Those things give us a shot against KSU. Will we win? Tight game coming up I believe. And just maybe a win. Williams and Florence might have a huge game. And Seastrunk continues to break out. If the deep ball comes back, Seastrunk/Martin runs well and we win the turnover battle -- well. Lookout.

K-State fan here. Our fans know facing Baylor in Waco will be another tough challenge for the Wildcats. I hope it is a good injury free game on both sides.

Thanks for dropping by K State fan. Congrats on being #1. Huge accomplishment. You guys earned it.

Here is to a very competitive game this week and no injuries like you said.

May have to eat crow, but I still believe we have a shot. I don't believe you are about to overlook us. I just think we will be ready to take you on.

And if we don't win, here's hoping you go all the way. Snyder deserves great things. Whale of a coach.

Can't wait for the Baylor game.  You guys have a great offense and our defense will need to play great.

RE: Out on a Limb

I'd love for BU to win this week but i don't see it happening. KSU just doesn't make mistakes and doesn't beat themselves; Baylor on the other hand beats themselves nearly every week with turnovers, penalties, & poor defense.
If Florence can hit TW over the top for a couple of scores and if Lache breaks loose on some long runs Baylor might keep it close like Jay says but actually beating KSU is unlikely.

Re: Out on a Limb

To teaffownsut -- I hear you. But...

Did it make sense when Teaff ate the worm and we destroyed UT with an untried and "run only" QB one year?

Did it make sense that we came back from 24-7 at the half with UT to win going away and win the SWC in the process in 1974?

Did it make sense that Namath and the Jets beat the "unbeatable" Baltimore Colts and Johnny Unitas in the Super Bowl one year?

No. On all counts. But stuff sometimes happens.

We will see. I know I may eat crow. But for some reason I think we are going to stay with them. And it does not make sense. Agreed. But... we have our first "complete" game and anything can happen.

Right now Baylor is hammering KSU 28-7.   It really would not bother me to see KSU lose tonight.

Minus a couple of turnovers, almost a complete game tonight. Played some defense, won the turnover battle, goal line stand snuffing out KSU's final chance at a comeback, competitive in the time of possession, etc.

Good job Bears. One game at a time.

Take what you learned and get after Tech.
