Recruiting......
Is the biggest issue and its not getting better. Ive had it with all these catchy phrases we/I have used to describe Oliver Purnells recruiting. Fits the system, Guys he can devolpe, Hes a nasty type player, etc etc. You know what it all means? Hes recruiting 2 and low 3 star players that arent getting it done. Year 3 and were on our way to a 2-16 banger. F That man. This dude needs to get somebody on staff that can talk sh#t and sell OUR PROGRAM to recruits. I believe i can sell DePaul better then these cats are doing. Show some passion. My god am so irritated......Year 4 step up and earn your dollars dude. Or kick rocks. Im a homer and HATE posting stuff like this. But we are paying this man 2mill plus. Lets go. I got your back coach, but show us something SOON. Go Demons!!!!
Get Your Popcorn Ready......Go Blue Demons.

Better make it $5MM. It's becoming the black hole of coaching.

RE: Recruiting......
Does this mean that our AD hired him even though she knew he or his staff couldn't recruit?

RE: Recruiting......
the issue go MUCH deeper than recuriting. coaching is terrible, gameplans are terrible, adjustments dont exisits.
OP is as bad a coach as JW. we just let a team who was AVERAGING 58 ppg drop 83 on us. 25 over the average is embarassing

RE: Recruiting......
At some point someone has to be accountable for this mess. The range is large, from the AD to the ball boy. A case can be made to fire the entire group and start over. For JLP, like it or not, this is her mess. I know everyone wants knee jerk actions taken but the record, lack of recruiting, coaching and development, all lead to reasons why all of these clowns should go. Money aside this is no better than JW/staff. Will JLP make OP fire his boys??? Or will someone in DPU administration decide to fire the leader (JLP)??
Again someone has to be accountable.

RE: Recruiting......
Very simple solutions...Hire a $750K coach for two years until Oliver"s contract comes off the books. This will make JLP look like a hero and someone that truly cares about this program.

The buck stops with Fr. H... He's the one that needs to be held accountable. If you are going to have the title of President, it's about time he show leadership.

Re: Recruiting......
While I agree the recruiting has been bad this seasons failures were more on coaching. Development has been minimal, x's and o's are non existent. Nothing will change next year. Or the year after. He has to go. The sooner the better.

RE: Recruiting......
Combes, I hope you were not referring Smart turning down the great Illinois program at $3mil per year. That never happened and those numbers weren't even close. No way Illinois being a state school can offer that kind of money during tough economic times. Why do you think it took that long for them to hire and settled for Groce.

RE: Recruiting......
Tampademon - Nope, no joke. There are underlining reasons why he left York for Gordon Tech after 1 season. If they let current coach go they can afford TK and OP. Things can change but from what I hearing this is a path the university wants to go down. Time will tell, but I wouldn't randomly throw out coaching options just for the hell of it.

RE: Recruiting......
There's now way we can compete in the Big East with our current level of recruiting. But I guarantee that the players on our roster were ranked higher overall than Gardner-Webb, Loyola, Western Kentucky, and maybe even Seton Hall. So it shouldn't be shocking that we can't beat teams that recruit much better than us. When we lose to teams that don't recruit as well as us, we should be beating those teams consistently. That falls on the coaching staff.
