Re: DePaul vs. Seton Hall Post game

Well, I hope we lose the last 17 and fire OP. Of course, at DePaul that is not a guarntee.

You could not coach a worse game. So many stupid moves. It was like it was his first game ever.

Sure the players we have are not the brightest. I mean Young, our leader, made three stupid plays in the last 1:17 but what exactly does OP teach these guys.

What a nightmare.

We are exactly where we were 3 years ago except three more years from the late 70's to early 90's.

Oh boy! eek

Well, you can't say the people didn't get their money's worth as it was a really exciting game, but this was a game that depaul needed to win desperately. I thought they had it.

I just can't watch this trainwreck anymore. Same old song and dance, and we've been singing it for over half a decade now.

No leadership, no offensive tempo, no hope on the horizon. ohlord

Wake me up in 2015 when I may have something to be excited about. I can't justify spending my time and money on this program anymore.

To the 1,000 or so fans that actually support this program still, god bless you. You've got more patience than me. I just can't do it anymore.

Re: DePaul vs. Seton Hall Post game

Oliver Purcell.... You should be fired on the spot. You are down 1 and you design a play for a 22 percent three point shooter to take a three pointer.

This on a night when Brandon young was getting into the paint at will. You need to put pressure on the officials and then if the shot is missed on a drive to the hoop there will be a chance for a rebound close to the basket.

We looked horrible all game and didnt deserve to win but that last play really pissed me off. Seton Hall is a bad team who only had 7 scholarship players and they had no business being in this game let alone winning it.

So sick of the same old crap every year, how predictable it was that we make a stop and then can't grab the rebound. Then what? Oh let's just give up a wide open layup.

I feel like a crazy person every time we lose, I really don't know what brings me back other than my obsession and the mere hope that we will ever be good again.

Seton Hall Post Game

I had hoped DPU would win this game so I could rail on them despite them winning but, oh well, they lost.

We shot pooly from 3, we shot poorly from the line, we shot poorly in the midrange, and we lack the ability to finnish. We cannot rebound.

We gave up a bunch of layups too!

Note, SHU is not a good team and we were playing them at home.

How many ways can I break this this team down?  We are just not good and paying a lot of money to be so.

Serious - lets just go to Div II and calll it a day.

I agree. I chose not to go to the game tonight and listen to it on the radio. Glad I did. Won't waste my money on this program anymore until we turn it around. Who knows when that will be. Hopefully in my lifetime. Doubtful under OP.

I'm in the minority, but I have the opposite view of OP. His system was the entire reason depaul was in this game. It created countless turnovers and was pretty relentless in the second half. I don't think OP gets the blame for this one.

Ok 2 questions  1. why did Mckinney leave the guy who went in for the layup, there was
no one else in the area for him to guard. 2. On the last out of bounds they left 2 guys
open beyond the 3 point line.. and instead we get a hail mary lob  to the post?

In regards to number 2, with .2 left, it has to be a tip in. You cannot catch and shoot unless there is .3 or more

Re: DePaul vs. Seton Hall Post game

it also caused countless open three pointers and Terriblf shot selection all game. Op is not wainwright bad, but how can u possibly draw up a play for a three pointer when u are down by 1 at home? Explain that to me? That is completely on Purnell and crunch time is where coaches are most important.

Re: DePaul vs. Seton Hall Post game

Is anyone surprised Seton Hall got a layup off that inbounds play? Giving up easy inbounds baskets has been one of the (many) things that hasn't changed in the last 6-7 years. Oh, that and an inability to block people out in key situations. Oh, and an inability to sink a free throw to extend or cut into a lead. Oh, and....

Re: DePaul vs. Seton Hall Post game

Did OP even know the score at the end of the game? The needed 2 to win, why shoot a 3???
This one's on OP...

Re: DePaul vs. Seton Hall Post game

Why was Melvin on the bench the majority of the 2nd half?

Why did we let a team known for the making 3's score at will with such a short bench?

Multiple Seton Hall players with 4 fouls and not one fouls out.

My starting center 1 I repeat 1 rebound.

My backup starting center 3 I repeat 3 rebounds.

This team is dunzeenie!!!

Prediction BGjr decommits

Turns around programs only thing that he turned around is his bank account.

He has lost this team, please get a legit coach for this university, because in 2 weeks you will see 500 or less fans at these games.

Melvin and Morgan

Great game fellas.

Melvin - I feel your frustration. I wouldn't want to be there either.

Morgan - how do I know OP is a terrible judge of talent. Before the season he said Morgan could be one of the best forwards in the Big East. Ummm, answers why our recruiting classes are unimpressive.

Question for BBD

Your thoughts on the second from last possession ? The Crocket three ? Did you agree with the play ?

Re: Question for BBD

I know folks are looking for the inside score, but it was designed to give both Young & Crockett open looks.  JC had a good look, it just didn't fall.

Other thoughts?

Re: Question for BBD

Nobody would agree with that play! Crockett is also shooting a very low percentage from outside the arch. That play confirms all of our deepest fears that our two million dollar man actually has no idea what he's doing. But it's worse than that even, I think my dog holly would have understood that a three pointer was not the appropriate call there. Oh well, I'm sure when we eventually DO fire Purnell four years from now Jlp will go to the nearest retirement home and try to find another 60 year old fireless coach to take over.

I'm usually not a ranter... But this loss got to me.
