DePaul vs. Auburn pre-game
It's hard to believe, but Friday's game is the first meeting ever between the two schools.

DePaul fans will get a look at Coach Tony Barbee in action tomorrow night. I think there were a few guys here who thought he'd make a good coach at DP, we'll see. Should be a good game...

IMO were a good team that's been playing bad. By good I mean better then avg........I still stand by my 17-14,18-13 prediction. A win at Auburn would be a solid win. Because most of you prolly think will lose anyway. Be negative, rip the team, whatever. Me? I'm excited for Tommow night and I still believe this team is much better then what we have seen.

tomorrow is a chance to prove we are haeading where we want to be. this isa very winnable game. You are what your record says you are to paraphrase Dennis Green. Right now, we're not very good. Do I hope we turn the corner tomorrow night? You bet. However, I have no idea what team will show up tomorrow night.

We need to win this game tomorrow. Auburn isn't very good, and we've had time now to work on all the things that were so ugly in cancun. IMO this is a far weaker team than Witchita State and is even weaker than Western Kentucky

Note to all you blue kool-aid drinkers, WE WILL NOT WIN! For obvious reasons, you will see why. If DePaul doesn't lose by at least 6 points, I will buy everyone in this thread a beer at the DePaul game on Dec. 29th vs. Loyola.
Don't get me wrong, I love DePaul. But how come we just cannot accept reality?? It seems to be the same thing over and over and over. Bad rebounding, poor free throw shooting, full court press leading to easy ass layups etc. Blah blah blah!
DePaul is not going to win this game on the road against an SEC opponent! But I'm going to enjoy watching the game regardless simply because I love college basketball.
I'm curious to see what type of fan base Auburn has on a Friday night game.

When Is The Last Time
DePaul won a non-conference road game against a BCS opponent? I don't have the wherewithall to look right now, but I can say a VERY LONG TIME
So I just looked because it is so pathetic and frustrating...and neutral site games don't count for this one...true road games only against BCS teams.

It's ok to say we will get beat and we suck. But the second I say otherwise people come at me and some act mentally unstable about it. I know I know your all DePaul fans and want what's best. But boy it's hard to believe sometimes. Go DePaul. Shock the world Friday night.(I mean this board anyway) lol

My blinders are off Bubba. Every year I look forward to the season like a 5 year old going to Disneyland. But this year I have no desire to see a game in person at the All State and even tomorrow I usually would re-arrange my plans to watch the game but decided to make plans. This is the reality of the fan (ME) who has lost all hope. I've seen nothing on the court to prove me wrong. This is coming from a fan of 27 years (previous season ticket holder). U ask the question how to get the fan base back. Very simple answer - win basketball games. See some improvement. Just tired of the same old song and dance. Not fun to watch a team always trying to play catch up the whole game. I'm hope things turn around but I'm not optimistic.

Windy, My post wasn't directed at you. I was just making a point. Trust me if DePaul lays an egg tommorw night I'll be the first one here letting them have it. It's time to start winning these games. IMO we are good enough to windy. Many disagree. Will see brother.

This is a game like many others from the past few years, where a win would indicate this program is possibly headed in a positive direction. Auburn is an utterly mediocre basketball team ( losses to Boston College/Rhode Island). A loss to them would prove an indicator ( much like the loss to GW) that our program is still stuck at square one. Lets take care of business and get on the path to making something out of this season.
