Re: DePaul Gets Much Needed Woodshed Win
Proud of the way the TEAM bounced back today. They shook off Thursday nights debacle and came back strong like I felt they would. Austin Peay? Sure, there bad. Although they were beating a decent Western Kentucky team by 1 at the half there last game, they clearly aren't good. But IMO this was much more about DePaul and the team that they really are. This is the REAL 2012-2013 Demons. Tuesday and Wed night will be big tests but I expect us to do very well in Cancun. BY, Melvin and Moses all played well and I was happy to see Morgan bounce back. Like I said this W was more about DePaul being a lot better, then it was Austin Peay being bad. 2-1 baby!! Boy pretty quite around here. Lmao!!!

Re: DePaul Gets Much Needed Woodshed Win
We all on here want DePaul to win, the group on this board are a few people who actually do care. I wouldn't be beating my chest too hard beating this team, win some Big East games than we will all start to actually believe. I hope Crockett is Ok, we have had enough bad news.

Wichita State would really grab my attention to be honest.

I'd be really surprised if Crockett plays Tuesday. Looked like he had a hard time walking after the game. Keep him out until he is ready. We need him long term
Very nice bounce back win. Stepped on their throats and removed all doubts early. Op pressing up 30

Re: DePaul vs. Austin Peay post game
A couple thoughts on todays game..
Glad to see the team bounce back with the energy and the fire that they did! The loss to GW was bad, but it was simply because of a lack of effort and focus. This team is far better than that.
I think BY has improved leaps and bounds over where he was last year from a mental aspect. He plays a lot tougher, is making much better decisions, love to see him getting after the boards, he's being much more opportunistic on the defensive end, and I think he's starting to step into the role of really leading this team like he should.
I was glad to see McKinney in the starting lineup rather than morgan. This team needs to come out with a lot of energy and McKinney brings more of that than Morgan.
I REALLY REALLY hope JC ok.. he's improved so much in getting after rebounds. 8 rebounds in 14 minutes for a guard?? This team absolutely needs him to achieve their goals this season.
Kirk has been a major dissapointment to me so far this season. In the last two games I've seen countless rebounds that should have been his go to the other team because he made no effort to slide over and attack the glass! Same goes on the defensive end, he has consistently been a step too slow. He needs to get his **** together and start playing aggresive and with some anger and he can become a real difference maker for this team.

Re: DePaul vs. Austin Peay post game
Nice to see the win, stil doesn't make up for Thursday night's debacle.
Still some concerning notes on this game: 1) less than 53% from the FT line; 2) 23 personally fouls (we keep putting team in the bonus and double bonus early); 3) 17 TO's (6 of them by our point guards); 4) rebounding still didn't look good; 5) Kirk 2 points 2 rebounds in 18 minutes we need more from him; 6) if we are light on bigs, our 3 point shooting has to be better; and 7) Crockett got hurt.
Derrell Robertson seems to be developing - 7 points 3 rebounds and a block in 18 minutes.

Re: DePaul vs. Austin Peay post game
Excellent win. We needed it and hopefully a lesson was learned from the other night. Bring it every night or you will lose.
Rebounding still a concern. Again, this stat stands out for such a ass beating. Same as game 1. Something doesn't seem to be working (or maybe it is working like last ......gulp...year).

Re: DePaul vs. Austin Peay post game
A couple thoughts...
McDonald looks good. I think he's going to have a year similar to Crockett's last year, getting more and more minutes as the season progresses. He had one pull up jumper tonight that was really smooth. I wouldn't be shocked if he and Brandon are the starting backcourt come the BE tournament.
If Kirk doesn't start producing, Robertson is going to take his spot. Derrell really impressed me today. He showed a soft touch around the basket that I didn't know he had. I think he's going to have a nice season.
Man, is Jodan Price buried deep on the bench. Freshman or not, being behind two walk-ons in the rotation is pretty discouraging. With that said, McGhee gave them some serviceable minutes tonight. I still think all of his minutes should be given to McDonald, McKinney, and Morgan, but he held his own tonight.

Road to recovery
I know who Austin Peay is and I know they are a garbage team, but today's performance was all about rebounding and taking the road to recovery. The first test has been passed with flying colors. There was definitely some pride today that was missing on Thursday. Again, there are no excuses for the Gardner Webb loss(although they pushed Iowa to the limit). When looking for silver linings in Thursday's loss I did find one bit of comforting news (albeit small). We all know OP does well in his third year with his programs and I checked OP's Clemson results from his third year. They got off to a great start (12-0) against, of course, cream puffs but stumbled prior to conference play and did lose to an epically bad team in Elon. So, hopefully the Gardner Webb loss is our Elon and the train keeps moving.

Re: DePaul vs. Austin Peay post game
One can only hope this was our Elon but we bounced back nicely. It's nice to listen to a game against a team we should be beating without having to worry about each possession. But I will say this, this is the 3rd game in a row that we out fouled our opponent. 2 of those games we won big but two were against unathletic teams. That will pose a problem when conference splay comes around. And while I hope Crockett is okay, he had 4 fouls in only 14 minutes. He is critical as he is one of our more active defenders and rebounders even if he's not scoring and his minutes are needed on the floor. I hope he's healthy for Tuesday as we will need him. At least we can enjoy this for a couple of days...
