I left with 12 minutes to go in the 2nd half. This game was just awful and these players should be completely ashamed of themselves!!!

Here's my "classy" response.

The program withered and died under Wainwright. After three years, I see nothing from Purnell and this staff that says they will revive it. On Blue Tube there looked to be about 1000 lost souls at the game. The average age of the crowd outside of the student section looked to be about 60 and with about 15 minutes to play they all looked like they would rather be elsewhere.

Very disheartening night. With the effort the kids put forth, I wonder if the coaching staff have lost the players.

Unacceptable, this is a dam shame that people are not held accountable at the largest frickin Catholic University in America.

Games like this make me not want to become a Depaul alumnus. Games like this explain why we can't get people to come. Games like this explain the fact that only 20-25 students come out to the games on average. It has become a waste of time. This game may have been the atom bomb for DePaul basketball. The only way this team could come back from this is to win every game left in the non con and go 6-12 in the BE, and that will not happen. What just happened? We may be a laughing stock again this year.

New AD, without a doubt, I am 100% sure of a loyal fan who has watched the program deteriorate into a pile of rubble.

Like I say, we aren't the DePaul of the early 80's ever again, but the last 6-7 years or so have been completely unacceptable.

Please no more predictions or appreciation threads or recruits being great fits. You know what's a great fit, a top frickin 100 recruit not related to the staff...

1000 lost souls average age of 60 is dead on. No energy in the building turnstile count of less than 1.5k. Why do we play nonconference games in rosemont. Terrible choice.

1st. I don't consider these games "home games", playing 25 miles away from campus is a joke to any program. Build a damn stadium in Lincoln park already and i guarantee a lot more people will show up at the games. why is this relevant? If I was on the team and saw 1000 people in the stands it would not motivate me at all to try to make a comeback when our team is down in the 2nd half. it makes perfect sense, we're the only team in the entire country that does not play its games in the same city as the campus, and what does that equate to? the WORST team in the history of division 1 basketball.

2nd. If i was Brandon Young and Melvin i would transfer immediately and hopefully get 2 years of eligibility with a team that will at least play in a post season tournament.

I seriuosly thought this was going to be our turn around year but i was dead wrong. Its going to be another long year in DePaul hoops.

Purnell is another Wainwright without the personality. He can't coach or recruit.

I don't understand the "stay classy Chicago" comment. Chicago doen't care about DePaul.

Moses Morgan is a marginal mid major talent and Crockett is not league bound. We are not NIT bound nor we'll even sniff the CBI. Only delusionists would think otherwise.

Despite what our illustrious coach did at other stops, he will not do it here. Year 3 with his players and same old, same old. G-W got 44 boards, 18 offensive. 18 Offensive boards!!! Fathom that. Some nights we don't even total that amount. Do we even know how to box out??? What the hell do they teach or coach these kids on??? And we're paying him $2MM per. Do you realize Mark Gottfried was unemployed at the time OP was hired. But our AD could not give him an opportunity because he had to resign from Bama with a winnning record at the time over some benign BS so he was damaged goods. Some times you need to look past things and give people shots but for her you have to fit into this nice, neat box so you don't make her life stressful worrying that you're violating some NCAA rule or bylaw. I would bet he would've been interested too. Take a look at NC State's talent and play and tell me how much nicer things could have been. But our AD is out of her league, can't think outside of the box and what does she get? A contract extension. I don't care about the other programs and some marginal success we had in softball or the success of WBB really does not make her tenure a success. This is the flagship of the Athletic Department and the reason our enrollment rose exponentially during the '80's, Men's basketball and she with the help of her two hires, have rendered it P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C. Thanks Jeannie, I don't care how much love you ahve for the University, if you truly loved it you would step down and let the University try and hire someone with ability. But they would probably screw that up to.
