Rumors ???

Where are the rumors on the coaching search?  Shouldn't we have had license plate, tail fin number and real estate listing sightings yet?

Not after just 2 days.   Besides 3 guys are still coaching in Omaha right now.

Re: Rumors ???

Heard they were looking at a July 1st coaching hire. Long enough to do your due diligence but before the signing deadline to let the incoming draftees know what's going on before July 15.

Re: Rumors ???

"If we would have played our best baseball, we'd still be playing right now," Burr said. "As a team we underperformed, and at the end of the day, somebody's got to pay for it. Mr. Anderson expects excellence, and we weren't excellent. He was so swift with his change, he does care about the future of the program and gives us confidence as a team (in the selection process)."

That's not an endorsement. Read an article that the coach nicknamed knutsack by his players is a viable candidate for the head coaching job. Maybe it was just my drinking problem, and I imagined that. Hopefully it's just my alcoholism.

Not on any of the lists either....
This guy, perhaps?

I mean, that is saying this guy even knows what he is talking about when he just joined an hour ago.

Re: Rumors ???

Is Murphy off the list?  Between the Padres and this team, it appears he is very busy:

And how much credence do we give a brand new poster

Re: Rumors ???

ASU would not go after Lindsey Meggs.  Tim Esmay was more successful then Meggs has been at Indiana State or Washington.     Good grief might as well say we are going after the CAL coach he has been more successful then Meggs who has had 4 losing seasons at UW and one so-so season where he beat up on bad teams.

Lindsey Meggs...........good griefdisbelief

Re: Rumors ???

Meggs would be a surprise but USC way overachieved. ASU will probably go with a big name but the USC coach is pretty impressive. Not the level I think RA is thinking of though. It will be a name that is well respected in baseball. However Meggs took Chico state to the championships like 10 times, made Indiana state relevant and made the lowly huskies a title contender. Not bad.

Re: Rumors ???

If ASU had in fact already made an offer to someone that would mean they were first choice candidates. No disrespect to Meggs and Hubbs but I don't come close to seeing them as first choice guys for this job.

Re: Rumors ???

Has to be Horton or Casey if it's true. Casey would be great, Horton has been a huge choke job recently. Meggs is a good coach and very well respected. But doesn't seem like that hire would have been commensurate with that quotes RA has been giving to the media. Ryne Sandberg wants head coaching experience, I'm sure he would take the call.

Re: Rumors ???

I don't know. You have to think with the asu job opening Washington knew they had to lock Meggs up.
