Student's Silence

Student's Silence

Great turnout, but why so quiet at the start of the game? Once Felix hit that three they went nuts. Taylor College or something?

James Harden night.  Silent until we hit 13 points.  I was thinking the same thing at the game.  It was kind of creepy.

Students were fantastic tonight and the energy inside the arena benefited from it.

Great job students!!!!!!

I just don't agree.  Why not be loud, then explode when we hit 13 points?noidea

It was bizarre but man when they exploded...eek

Overall one of the best turnouts of the year by the students. They have really stepped up their game this season. Hopefully they can have the same showing on Saturday.

Good for the students for coming up with an original idea.  Not the way i'd do it, but who am I to decide what's best?  I personally liked how Harden celebrated his daydevil

RE: Student's Silence

I was just glad that Harden wore number 13 and not something like 28!

It was a very strange vibe in there when everyone was silent. One of the cheerleaders was standing next to me up on the walkway and she yelled "defense" during the silent part. I told her I think they might actually be able to hear you!

Cool idea to wait until they hit 13 points...

It doesn't matter vs WSU if they were quiet or not, they are terrible.

RE: Student's Silence

Definetely a lot of mixed reviews. If it happens again, the team and media needs to be informed. They had no idea what was going on. But thanks for the props! We'll try and keep up the good work with UDub.

This was incredible!!!

If ASU did this at games, I would start showing up. That looked like a ton of fun, except that it was all dudes and one 8 year old - that was a little weird.

Re: Student's Silence

If students could generate half the enthusiasm as Utah State the games would be much more fun.

They have about five minutes of canned cheers prior to tipoff.  Lots of HS do the "I believe" chant.  Corona del Sol and Mt. Pointe had a wild game Saturday night.  Below are the bleachers from the CdS students jumping the entire game.

Very weird. You would think that once it was decided to stay silent until the 13th point, coach and players would have been informed.

Don't know why we had another Harden night. He wasn't at the game and they had one last season.

We had it planned out at the beginning of the season and he was going to attend, and then he was traded to Houston bangheadbangheadbanghead We had 1000 bandannas ordered so we thought we might as well go on with it.

I don't know how the players and coaches didn't know about it. I wasn't able to attend but I saw promotions via social media for it from the athletics department. It was clearly planned in advance and ASU was made aware of it. Very weird for the team itself to not know.

Houston played OKC that night so the trade didn't change anything.  Am I right?

Re: Student's Silence

They changed the date after the trade. I believe it was supposed to be the Stanford game as it fit with the Thunder coming to Phoenix.
