Tonight the Sun Devils (14-4, 3-2) look to snap their two game losing streak and win their third consecutive game overall against the Trojans as they host USC (8-11, 3-3) at Wells Fargo Arena. Under Head Coach Herb Sendek, Arizona State is 5-1 against the Trojans in Tempe.
The Sun Devils will once again be without senior reserve guard Chris Colvin, who had his suspension extend by Sendek for both tonight and Saturday's game against UCLA. ASU will be trying to win three straight against SC for the first time since the '79-80, '80-81 seasons when they won four in a year against the biopsy from Troy.
Barring foul trouble, expect to see Jahii Carson continue to play extended minutes. Carson enters the week averaging 36.1 minutes per game in conference action, most in the Pac-12.
Speaking of Jahii, he's averaging 20.7 points and is shooting 50% from the field in the team's last three games. For the season, he's averaging 17.3 points and 5.2 assists per contest.
The Sun Devils will be looking for another strong performance tonight from shooting guard Evan Gordon, who after pouring in 17 points against Oregon followed that up with 14 against Arizona last weekend. After starting the season on a bit of a shooting slump, Gordon has made good on 42% (27-64) of his three point shots over the last 12 games.
Carrick Felix told the media on Tuesday that he has had a good week of practice and is eager to shake off his poor game against Arizona in which the senior made 1-8 shots for just five points and had seven turnovers. Felix enters the game averaging 14.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
Tip-off is at 8:30. Let's go Devils!
