Here is the Story on the Burfict Incident

Here is the Story on the Burfict Incident

As I suspected this story was blown way out of proportion and actually contains more lies than truth. Here are the details that were conveyed to me by a school spokesperson who has been receiving information from the football staff who have talked to the players about this:

- For those who read our Wednesday practice report, we did mention that Burfict took exception to a hit that Kevin Ozier put on him. It was a skirmish that ended as quickly as it started and was frankly just verbal in nature. Later that night in the locker room it was more of a same, a skirmish that ended as quickly as it started.

- No one was hurt. Ozier WAS NOT knocked down and was unresponsive as Sports by Brooks reported. He was at practice ALL WEEK LONG and doing quite well. Anyone who would be knocked unconscious would have to pass a baseline test before going back to practice. Ozier was in fact FLOORED when he heard about this bogus report.

- Incidents such as what REALLY happened, take place in every locker room across the nation in any sport. No lines were crossed here.

- This alleged fight wasn't in any shape or form the reason that Burfict didn't show up for media day. It has been well documented that Burfict doesn't like to give interviews and he wasn't in last year's media day as well. That's the only reason. He doesn't like media attention and this isn't breaking news.

- There was no photo shoot that was scratched because of this baseless allegation. Another flat out lie.

This is all nothing more than a poorly written tabloid story. Nothing to see here.

The only person who will be upset with the truth is one Cat poster who came bearing snide snickers in another post. When something is a "rumor" that generally means nobody really knows the entire story yet and some jump to conclussions.

I'm sure in the heat of play players will get angry at their own team mates...... it just happens.

Did anyone else hear about what happened during a practice the week leading up to Washington this past season?

Doxie,
"later that night in the locker room" doesn't exactly sound like heat of the play.

I don't really care what the result of the situation was. I do care that it's still very easy to get in VB's head

I'm glad it's been squared away. I was disappointed that Burfict didn't wait until 'punch you in the face Thursday'. We can all breathe a sigh of relief. On the note, UC Davis is going to get punched in the face in four Thursdays.

Happens all the time. If a guy feels like he got cheap-shotted, you have to remember; they are going back to the same locker room and will see that person again. Words get exchanged, and once again it's on. Not too many teams where guys don't get into it. Moving on.

If Kevin Ozier was an English dude he would file charges against Vontaze for not being a gentleman.

I'm here to tell you Ozier is a cool brother from San Deigo, and is all about loving the ladies in his grey 350z cool

for sure.   Fights happen, kids skip class, people lose their rent at the casino, credit cards are used to buy luxuries

happens all the time but it's still a sign of immaturity.   I know I shouldn't be, but I really am amazed at how many passes VB gets.  I'm not asking for a suspension, but I'm just saying that I'm pretty shocked at our attitudes towards him when he messes up.

People act like it's not a mess up.  Am I really that much of a jerk that I would expect our fan base to look down at our players throwing punches at each other?

TT,

This will be handled internally and we may never know the outcome so why not give it a rest. It really seems like you are making it out to be much worse than it was. If you have ever played sports I am sure that you have seen this type of incident on a team that you have been on.

Re: Here is the Story on the Burfict Incident

I called them out on the use of Sports by Brooks info and they came back saying "sorry you didnt like our first source but we have confirmed it with our own sources."  Then they posted this

Atleast they got their facts straight.  KTAR sure is getting bush league.
