Re: Lost another JC

This one hurts.  He's gonna enroll at West Georgia instead.  Article said he was a risk to begin with, but a worthy risk as he was perhaps the best D-line JC recruit.  This will hurt as we will probably have to plug in a freshman now.

Re: Lost another JC

Not gonna lie it does indeed suck. But we cushioned that by signing 4* Tashon Smallwood, 4* Renell Wren , 3* Conner Humphries and 3* JC DE Boateng!! Our depth and experiance will be issues but talent will not be IMO!!!

THANK YOU WILL SUTTON FOR COMING BACK FOR SECONDS!!!!

Re: Lost another JC

This is a big hit, make no mistake! None of those kids have the size/strength/speed profile of Stuckey!
It amazes me that any JC kid presented with the opportunity to play PAC FB cannot muster up the effort to qualify academically!  West Georgia WTF!

Maybe we are better off without them!

Mississippi junior colleges are known to have lots of talent, but it looks like a waste of time for ASU to recruit there!

The good news is that everybody else in the class has qualified and is enrolled or will arrive shortly!

The question becomes, how good is Emanuel Dayries? I sure hope he flew under the radar.

Re: Lost another JC

The sooner we get freshman like Humphries, Wren and Smallwood conditioned to play, the better long term for the Devils. I believe Humphries will be ready to play almost immediately.

Re: Lost another JC

so ASU's DL is :

DE Hardison Sr //  Corey Smith rFR// O'Grady rJr
NT Hood Jr // Smallwood Fr. // Humphries Fr.
DE Cherry rJr // Wren Fr. // Boateng rSo.

am I missing someone?.....

well... there is depth and plenty of bodies.....but do any of these guys have the talent/experience needed?.. .the returning guys lack the talent; and the new guys lack the experience and they need a year to get physically up to the challenge.....

This is a pretty major blow to ASU's Defense losing Stuckey and Caldwell....

I'd be pretty shocked if  most teams didn't shove the ball right down ASU's throat in games vs that group of DL's. I can't think of a single Offensive Line in the conference where it shouldn't be a massive mismatch against that Dl.

That DL looks like a decent scout team DL, but 3-deep.

Missing E. Dayries from New Orleans.. DT 6'4 around 290 coach Shipp said he has a quick first step, so we will see.

Re: Lost another JC

All those guys are better than that major flop vanderdoes and the half a sack he got last year!

The ASU DL is still good enough to dominate CU UU WSU and OSU, all of which have crap OLs!
The rest we can outscore, including the ruins!

I will never understand how guys fail to reach the paltry minimum requirements to qualify as a college athlete. Basically you need a pulse. Oh, and don't be completely and utterly lazy.

Re: Lost another JC

It really is cake for JC transfers to get in!

You are an auto qualifier with an AA "degree"!

Failing that after 2 seasons of JC ball you need 3 full time semesters, a 2.25 GPA, 2 English classes, 1 math class, and 1 science class!

So damn easy!

I know some might laugh at this, but if you have ever seen the movie "Precious" you might not be so quick to judge. There are some people who would have to overcome a lot in life to qualify to be an NCAA athlete.

I don't know his situation, but not everyone has the same odds is all I'm saying.

Re: Lost another JC

Put the pipe down....

Colorado actually has a pretty good young OL maturing. Utah and OSU's OLs will put a hammer on ASU's front 7.. Not sure where you came up with that...ASU could get into a shoot out with them, but there is no 'domination' of any pac12 OLs with that group in the front 7.

One scoreless drive and ASU might be down for the count vs good teams... ASU's O isn't Leach's Air Raid at Texas Tech. Not by a longshot.

UCLA? UCLA lost less starters and production from their O than ASU did; but ASU's O is going to be "unstoppable"?. And their D is on another planet from ASU; UCLA's 3rd string DL is 1st string at ASU right now. That is starting to look like a beatdown for Sparky.

You better brace yourself for a bumpy ride.... Teams expecting their O to carry them without an adequate D will have some rough weeks....

You're an idiot!  The UU, CU, WSU OLs are all dumpster fires, the OSU might be a tad better!

there is a reason there are in a JC in a first place. Not everyone is able to be a college student

A well trained chimp would have a good chance of getting a 2.25 GPA at a MS JUCO!
