5-star football player choosing between Cats, Vols

5-star football player choosing between Cats, Vols

This is from another publication so copy and paste the title in google and read one ridiculous quote after another about AU coming out of this DT's mouth.  This is the main Tucson paper I think.

Why Tucson?  Is he blind?

Why doesnt ASU recruit a guy who seems to be this good, instead allow Tucson to make a positive impression on this 5 star?  Knoxville I get, Tucson I dont.

I dont really have a question, more of a how could this kid be this blind, dumb, misinformed, ignorant, etc. etc.???

You are talking about McKenzie?  IIRC, he eliminated us early on.  We gave it our shot, but we didn't make the final list.

Maybe he wants to play a pillow soft non-conf schedule, in a town known for riots, and never play in a Rose Bowl.

That would be an amazing coup if rr can sign this kid.

It just goes to show that you never really know what will click with a recruit. What lights up one kid's eyes would be the exact reason another would cross a place off their list. There is no "one" answer.

Would be shocking if he chose the Rats, they are loading up on 2* with low/no offer sheets...not to ridicule a kid who gets an offer from a D1 school...but there hasn't been any chirping from Rat's posters (Ratinfl) about their recent pledges. Not to hate on the OP, but this thread is unnecessary unless you're a UofEh fan.

I really don't understand why either are in his top 2. Yeah Tennessee is in the SEC, but they have been extremely mediocre for the last 9 years. AU football isn't as bad as they have been in the past, but they are average-at-best right now. He could go anywhere in the country.

If you're comparing programs, UT is superior, even if they haven't been great in awhile.

If you're comparing cities, Tucson seems pretty nice compared to Knoxville.

McKenzie is a legacy at UT. His dad and Uncle played there. He likes Arizona a lot, but it's hard to overcome the family factor.

Hating AU is just as valid a post as praising ASU . . . . Thats why I wrote it. . . . for all my time and effort devoted to ASU since I was in high school in 97 till now I can write whatever I damn well please.  Including hating on the rats.  Thank you.

It's all about connecting with a recruit and making him feel comfortable with his coaches.  RR is a personable and likeable guy.

The big difference between RR and Graham is their philosophies.  Graham is a team guy, everybody dresses nice, no earings or rags on the head when your in the facilities, it's yes sir no sir.  RR, on the other hand, does not mind players showing their individuality.  You can dance on the sideline, wear jewelry, show the world why you are different from others around you.  Some recruits like that.  RR has more in common with Erickson than Graham when it comes to that.

McKenzie said it's the family atmosphere that drew him to Arizona.

Re: 5-star football player choosing between Cats, Vols

You guys are so hilarious, you sure are obsessed with everything UA on this board.  Seriously you all have 11 threads on your football forum about UA.  You guys won the Pac-12 South last year,  won 10 games and beat the crap out of us in football, why are you so concerned with everything we do?  Why aren't you talking smack with UCLA, USC and Oregon fans now that your football program is apparently destined for national prominence?   Oh that is right, your program doesn't even compare to those programs whatsoever so you have to talk smack about your rival just to make yourself feel superior.

Carry on
