Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
This situation seems pretty fluid. One minute we're in trouble, next minute he is solid, then he's taking trips again. It doesn't look good now, but who knows? I think this one might be a roller coaster from here on out. I'd imagine we'd have to, but do we have a plan B in place at all?

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
Yep he is visiting UT its official. Not good news at all. MSU is out of the picture but now UT is in.. Lots of info in the huddle on this but not good news. If we lose him dont reach on a qb this year just wait for 2014 and sign 2. Note: UT does already have 1 qb commited this year

Yea, just saw that. Doesn't soft verbal on scout just mean he is taking other trips, or is there more to it? Agree that we shouldn't reach on a QB this year. I was wondering if we were in on any other QB trying to flip him. I heard rumblings about Bruggman, but while he is a fine prospect, I don't really see him in this offense. He would be Berco part 2 IMO.

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
Fight fire with fire. We have to show Dobbs that you can't waffle on us this late in the game. We have a program to run and we need to look at other QB's now. Should he choose to end this and commit to us, we will end our search, if not, we have to do what we have to do in the interest of our program.
Have we even been looking at other QB's at all? No we have not. Why? Cause we had a commit from Dobbs. Has Dobbs ended his recruiting efforts after commiting to us? Obviously not. We are getting screwed right now and we need to make up ground fast. It's time we turn someone else around. Not personal, but it is business.

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
Agreed. If we lose Dobbs, then just get 2 next year, and grab an extra lineman this year. I think people get really hung up on the stars a player has. Filling your needs is more important.

Football recruits cannot sign the LOI until February 6, 2013. They can wait until April 1, 2013. He is not waffling. It is not late in the game. He is not screwing us. Dobbs is a kid that wants the best for himself. He has a tremendous opportunity to visit & then choose from lots of universities. More power to him!

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
I just took a look at the Tennessee recruiting class and they have four guys that all moved to soft verbal. On a bright side we are not in their shoes but Dobbs not committing would be a big blow to the class...hoping for the best!

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
This is recruiting. Kids flip late all the time. Ryan Finley (not Bruggman)is the best qb in the state this year, maybe he doesn't want to go to Boise ST. Worth a phone call to find out though.

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
Regardless of what happens with Dobbs, ASU needs to hit up Marcos QB Josh Eckley for next year. I've seen this kid play this year and he is as athletic of a QB that has come out of AZ since Hundley. He may be the best QB in the state next year and would be a great fit for our system.

Re: Dobbs visiting Tennessee?
when I saw a tweet that said Norvell was going to GA to meet with Dobbs this week I knew it couldn't be good. I mean he was just here on a visit. Hopefully they are able to resolve concerns and keep him as he is a big part of this class.

It's pretty much SOP to follow up a visit with an in-home.

It's pretty much SOP to follow up a visit with an in-home. 4 days after he visits? I know in-homes are all part of the deal, but I have a hard time thinking this was SOP. I think it was more, "oh crap, Dobbs might decommit, Mike get on that plane!"
