Benghazi Or Bengarzi as some call it.....

Benghazi Or Bengarzi as some call it.....

She couldn't avoid being interviewed forever.  Wow, that was ugly.

FYI, to anyone that is going to cry fowl or get all worked up.  I didn't get my info from Rush or the No Spin Zone.  I simply watched the video clips on the mainstream news and drew MY OWN conclusions.  Lets look at this objectively and not from a party stance.  Handled very badly- end of story.

My conclusion:  Clinton should have stepped up and taken more responsibility.  The buck has to stop somewhere.  Saying that she didn't see the communications and wasn't aware they were requesting more security is NO excuse.  The aftermath of the situation was handled very poorly.  My sense is that we leave with more questions than answers at this point.  I don't think its a cover up in any way- not a conspiracy theorist- just think no one wants to step up and say "Yes, I screwed up"....pathetic.

This isn't a PARTY issue.  Unfortunately, my experience on the board is that if you criticize this administration or anyone associated with it, you will have someone talking about how you got your opinion based on watching FOX news within the first few responses.  Hoping people on both sides are logical enough to just say this situation SUCKS and the handling of it SUCKS even more.

You must DEMAND more from your government- even if its the side you voted for.

Re: Benghazi Or Bengarzi as some call it.....

"As I have said many times since September 11, I take responsibility."

I'm not exactly sure how much clearer she could have been.

I actually thought she did great yesterday. You may not think this is a party issue but the Republicans absolutely have a motive for trying to drag her through the mud and keeping this active as long as possible. She's leaving as the most popular Secretary of State since Colin Powell, and they know if she chooses to run in 2016 they probably can't beat her.

By the way it's hard to say "let's look at this objectively" and then immediately follow it with "handled badly, end of story". Uhhh, ok.

Hilarious.

She says she takes responsibility, then spends the rest of the time making excuses and slithering out of it.

Your response scares me.  Totally blinded by your alliegance.  I voted for Obama this go round, but I can see that mistakes are made.  Come on now.

Riddley is the best starting running back on the Pats since Ben Jarvis Green Ellis!!!!

She's asked questions after she takes responsibility several times. She answers them. What would you like her to do?

I think the whole thing has been handled very badly. I agree that there is probably no conspiracy or cover-up, but this was a sitaution that could have been dealt with much better.

I think one of the quotes from the Republican Senators yesterday is "we wish we good luck on your future endeavors, mostly" that got a laugh even from her. People are naive if they don't think this has anything to do with politics.

If as she said, she wasn't aware of the embassy's calls for help, somebody should have been canned. How do you not tell your boss about something like this?

Re: Benghazi Or Bengarzi as some call it.....

Apart from this incident she has been a great secretary of state. Prior to the election she came out and said that she took responsibility (which I thought made Obama look weak - as he should have said it first).

I was not a fan of hers while she was first lady, wasn't crazy about her as a senator, but I have very little problem with what she has done in this position.

As far as the hearings go, I did not like that she said

"With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night decided they'd go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?"

In order to fix the problem, you need to know what the problem was.

Beyond that I had no major issues - it was what it was, mostly political

To be fair 29, you should finish that quote...

" It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again Senator. Now honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this, but the fact is that people were trying in real time to get to the best information. The IC has a process I understand going with the other committees to explain how these talking points came out. But you know, to be clear it is from my perspective less important today looking backwards as to why these militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice, and then maybe we’ll figure out what was going on the meantime."

Re: Benghazi Or Bengarzi as some call it.....

I watched the whole thing. Basically Hillary wiped the floor with these guys. She made Johnson from Wisconsin look like a partisan fool, and of course McCain played his role of " bitter old man " to the hilt. Rand Paul and that knucklehead congressman from South Carolina only wished to score political points for their bottom feeding constitutents back home in the Confederacy.

No doubt there were security problems at the embassy which should have been, and are now being addressed. Some members of the GOP asked some good questions during the hearing. Some were just there to take partisan shots and perpetuate this myth that the Administration lied to the American people about whether it was a terrorist attack, which has been the mantra coming from Fox since this occurred.

Rand Paul, ( " If I had been president " ), was the worst. How this guy could get elected to anything is amazing, but considering he's from Kentucky.....

So now I'm waiting for Congressional hearings about the Iraq war, and how the American people actually were lied to about weapons of mass destruction and " mushroom clouds ". All that cost us was well over a Trillion dollars, thousands of our soldiers killed or wounded, not to mention how many Iraqis  who died. Love to see the GOP congressmen ask the " tough" questions of the Bush administration who created this fiasco.

So you voted for the man you called "the most divisive president in history" in the gun control thread?

(BTW - the most divisive president in history is a common mantra on Fox and the hate radio crowd )

Sure did.  I felt he was a better choice than Mitt unfortunately.  Yeah, I don't just vote along party lines....sorry to not live up to your stereotypes Marvin.

Thanks for making my point for me......as usual a discussion about yesterday's hearing gets a mention re: fox.  I was stating my thoughts, as were most other people on their thread.  I don't need talking heads on the TV to tell me what I should think or feel.  My assumption is that the posters that feel differently than I are also making their own conclusions. I respect their thoughts, even if I disagree.  But, here comes Marvin....somehow working Fox into to the convo.  Childish.

Bravo Marvin....bravo!  You are the personification of all that is wrong with politics from both sides.  Instead of discussing the issue at hand, you turn it into personal attacks and bring up other points that have nothing to do with the discussion on this thread.  People with that debate technique ARE the problem.

Re: Benghazi Or Bengarzi as some call it.....

Maniac,

You have a pretty thin skin to be posting on the OT board if you think I made personal attacks against you. And for the record the fox / hate radio comments were in reference to your post "most divisive president" on the NRA thread, not this one. I will say it again - I have a hard time understanding why anyone who believes a man is the "most divisive president in history" would vote for that man.

Now in this thread you open with “she could not avoid being interviewed forever” so it is obvious you have your pre-conceived notion that her health issues were a ploy to avoid the hearings.  As Desert points out she could not have been clearer in her statements following the attacks and in yesterday’s hearings that she assumed responsibility for what happened. So unless you were expecting her to admit she took part in the attacks I don’t know what more she could have said.

IMO the larger question is who is responsible for editing the initial statements on the attack and the motives for those edits. Was it a matter of national security?  Waiting on verification regarding the attackers and their motives?  Or the elephant in the room, was it the 2012 elections?  And Hillary clearly separated herself from that question yesterday as she should have.

I stopped reading your post once I read the highlighted sentence above.  Dude, that is my POINT!!!!  What don't you get?  This is a thread about yesterday and you are bringing up another thread....and you just did it again and admitted it.  I will save us both the trouble and ignore you so that people don't have to witness this petty argument.

MF did you not want anyone to discuss this? For someone who says they want respectful discourse just about every one of your posts is trying to shut people down, ridiculing their comments, etc.

If you didn't want anyone to respond to your post maybe you should have just emailed it to yourself.
