My girlfriend and I saw Marino in a restaurant awhile back. According to her, being 6'4", really handsome, built like an athlete, and appearing to be a very nice unassuming  guy, doesn't hurt either.

I think he is a good guy...who battled some personal issues which caused his draft stock to fall from #1 to mid 20s to Mia...

and if they don't seem to dig you at first you can always text them a picture of your junk to entice them  - though that approach hasn't worked yet [see: S. Salisbury and B. Favre] it's bound to work sooner or later.

Vinnie, please stop...your texting comments are distracting me from my Super Bowl week focus on listening to Ray Lewis talk about 'the devil' telling SI reporters to write about Deer Antler spray and about his thoughts on 'proper' child rearing practices…he and Shawn Kemp should have a workshop...or at least a booth at the NFL Experience...

Here's the Cliff Notes on Ray Ray:  Ray Lewis is a mystery to those who are just dropping by  - but he's loved by those who know him -- he'll never have to be in a separate locker room or out in the country mowing his lawn while being shunned by many of the fans that he played his career in front of.

The greatest leader in the history of team sport.

and he does a great antler dance.noidea

the separate locker room reference...classic......how Bonds like, right?...then again..it was MS's idea...to control media access to Favre...and the PR staff liked it and used it as a place to store fan mail and player autograph jersey requests...as Favre got older, and had less in common with 22 yr olds who wanted to date his daughter, MS put in cable TV..and a big screen.....and MM put in a computer and internet...classicbiggrin

regarding the lawn mowing...I think Favre only did it when the grass grew too high...

So I assume Peyton Manning has a separate locker room too?  How about Tom Brady -- there aren't many people on the planet (maybe David Beckham) that have much in common with Brady -- so I suppose he has to be kept away from the mere mortals -- right?  Ahh but Manning and Brady probably don't get as much fan mail.  If only Peyton had a few more endorsements he might become popular.

It is a pity that players have to resort to things like deer antler spay now that the really good stuff like Vicodin is no longer available.  I'll credit SI though - they somehow managed to track down the only player in the NFL who used a banned drug to get through an injury.  Hopefully this will be a lesson to younger players like Clay Matthews to avoid the temptation of using PEDs and the NFL will remain clean as a whistle.  No PED's allowed in our league!

Vinnie...this starting to go down hill...and fast.  Favre used to get 75% of all fan mail for the team...it was not his idea to have the separate room...MS wanted to stop the reporters from wondering over to Favre's locker ...MS was a control freak...and he was the boss...if this bothers you ..I suggest that you not think about it...time to move on..

I guess Favre was pretty special - hard to imagine a QB getting 75% of the fan mail for a team.  As kid I always wrote to the long snapper.

And yeah I did notice that Sherman had Favre on a real short leash - pretty much told Favre what to do every step of the way.
