http://www.greenvilleonline.co...yoff-hopes-fade

You guys should take a trip up the mountain to see this guy play!  He is special, probably wont see another one like him anytime soon.  Ive seen someone so explosive and efficient at the same time.  Simply unbelievable.

very nice article 6MVP1, enjoyed it. I like it when a player does great at the next level, no matter where he played high school.

Yeah plus being a 3.5 year grad with a double major and being on the deans list the entire time at APP.  All the while being a young father, winning 2 natiional championships, the Walter Payton award, and being the only player in NCAA history to pass for 9000 yards and rush for over 4000.  Unbelievable preacherman.  He is a great QB!  Very fun to watch.

RE: Skyblue this is for you man

this is great and all b4 Edwards, they had a similar QB who done well.

Unless Edwards has the speed, he won't make it as a wr or a db. best wishes for him

I don't think he will get the chance like Vick b/c Vick did those type things at VT

Re: Skyblue this is for you man

dude u must be outside ur mind! he must have speed if rush for over 4000 yards and he must have good field vision too b/c he passed for over 9000 yards. i think he has a very legit shot at bein drafted and making it at the next level either as a db or wr or  can we say wildcat! but  i forgot mvp if he aint a beecher then some on here dont wanna hear it or they say i dont thihnnk he will make it. but anyway on to better things! iam glad to see he is doin well and hope he keeps up the good work and maybe i will have to make it to a game b4 seasons end to watch him play. a guy that i use to work with is a big edwards fan so maybe i can make a game!

Can you say winner , winner chicken dinner!! This guy is dynamite on wheels baby. If Dickie V did football he would freeze up after a while describing Edwards. The guy is a winner and a primetimer. If he puts his mind to it, which all evidence says he will, he will make it somewhere. I like the comment from the coach about him being a better person. Hope you make that game Skyblue.

Re: Skyblue this is for you man

Hey sky if you get the chance drive up to Elon University on November 14th and check out Armanti and his troops battle the Elon Phoenix.  Elon boasts two record breaking players as well in Scott Riddle and Terell Hudgins.  Riddle is right behind Armanti in career passing yards in Southern Conference History. By the way he is a junior!  Hudgins is a receiver who stands about 6'2 240 pounds and owns every receiving record in socon history.  The socon has produced receivers by the likes of Terell Owens and Randy Moss.  Two of the best in our modern era.

As for Armanti, most scouts are very suprised at his ability to pass the ball.  There is a reason Armanti has the career stats that he had and it is because he is great at everything a quarterback needs to be great in.  He has a tremendous ability to read a defense.  His football intellect is second to none.  He is the type of player who takes everything you give him.  He exploits the holes in your defense and simply rips your heart out and hands it to you.  Armanti is as physically gifted as it comes.   He is a pass first, run second type of quarterback.  He has the ability to scramble, but is always looking to lure you in and drop a bomb over your head.  He does not turn the ball over.  Very rarely will he force a ball.  He has one of the highest completion percentages in all of college football.  Many coaches have been quoted as to saying that Armanti Edwards is the best QB the have either played, coached, or coached against.  I will remind you that many of these coaches have played, coached, and or coached against many major college football programs througout the country.

Over the past four years I have watched Armanti lead his team against a few QB's who are now starting QB's in the NFL as we speak.  I watched him end Joe Flacco's(Baltimore Ravens) career at Deleware.  As well as pull off one of the  most storied upsets in college football history when he led the Mounataineers to a 34-32  victory over then ranked #5 the Michigan Wolverines.  I will remind you that the Michigan Wolverines ended up beating the Florida Gators led by yes, Tim Tebow later that year in a bowl game.  The starting QB for Michigan at the time was Chad Henne who is now the staring QB for the Miami Dolphins.   In this game Armanti went 17 for 23 with 3 Td's all while playing with a partially seperated shoulder in which caused him to miss the next few games.

No matter how Armanti's senior season ends, he will be remembered as one the most dynamic, prolific quarterbacks to step foot on an NCAA football field.  More than that he will remembered as Sabertooth said, A WINNER.  A kid who came in and lead his team multiple championships and helped transform his school into a well known, well respected program throughout the country.  For this Armanti will be know as someone who came in and changed the face of school and put a little town named Boone on the college football map.

Jay is correct AppState QB before Armanti was very talented.  He went to camp with the Chicago Bears and ended up playing a few years In the Canadian Football League.  He set many records  while playing at ASU.  He is a personal friend of mine.  He would tell you as I have here, Armanti is the best Ive seen at App State.  Period.   I am not big on promoting players, I am however for telling the truth no matter whose feelings it hurts.  Fortunately Armanti's body of work speaks for itself.  He is simply Better.

great post, I enjoy reading facts.

All I'm saying is very few QB's make in the NFL at his height, Chris Leak didn't, look at his stats and NT

TRoy Smith is having a time making it.

If Edwards doesn't have the necessary speed to cover or grab em' then he'll end up in Canada.

Most importantly, he has a degree from APP STate so he will be sucessful either way you look at it.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Re: Skyblue this is for you man

why r we even talking about if he has the ness. speed? i mean come on its common sense mvp has already gave us facts. THE MAN HAS RUSHED FOR OVER 4000 YARDS AND THREW FOR 9000 YARDS. some posters in here have no common sense at all or they just dont want to hear it at all. but anyway like i said i am happy for edwards. would be nice on draft day to hear edwards name called.

Re: Skyblue this is for you man

Very true Jay and the truth about the NFL is it stands for Not For Long.  There are many players that end up in the wrong camp and never make it.  It is not not as cut and dry as many think.  You often have to be the right place at the right time.  After watching Armanti, I am convinced that he is one of those guys that defies expectations time and time again.  And like you said eventually he will be able to use that degree and make a nice life for him and his son.   I tend to pull for the "little" guy, the guy  that everyone finds reasons why he can't do it.  Those are the ones I love to see make it.

I'm with sky though, speed has never been a question mark for this young man.

Now lets go beat the p i $ $ out of the wonders!
