Concord travels to Kannapolis riding a four game win streak.Their win over Hickory Ridge should put the Spiders in the 3A playoffs.Kannapolis comes into the game with another SPC title after beating NWC for the 30th straight time.This game looks a lot closer than it did three or four weeks ago.Wish this game was like the old days when it usually was for the conference title.....but hey the bell is still on the line.Good luck to both teams next week,and here's hoping both teams come out of the game healthy and in good shape for the playoffs.

I just have to ask.  Do you still think that Concord is a poor to mediocre team as you did just one week ago?

Mediocre means of middle quality,neither very good or very bad;ordinary;average;commonplace.It's like a team that is playing .500 ball.They are not very good or very bad.

At the time I said this about Concord and Mount Pleasant they were both 2-6.Four games below .500.I really thought I was being nice to the two teams using that word.

I would not even call Mount Pleasant mediocre now....they are 2-8 and no longer close to being .500.They have dropped to a very poor team.I don't know how to sugar coat it now.They are having a bad season.

Concord is now 4-6....still two games below .500.They are playing well now,but I still wouldn't say they are very good or very bad.They are getting close to a .500 team....pretty much of middle quality.I still say any team playing around .500 meets the definition of mediocre.That's just what the word means.

In my opinion Hickory Ridge now a .500 team is mediocre.....they are not very good or very bad.

There are a lot of teams playing .500 ball in NC and I would call them all mediocre because once again that's what the word means.These teams are not very good or very bad.

I will say congrats to Concord's coaches and players.They have done a great job turning around a very tough season when they were 0-6 to get to 4-6.

Good luck next week against the Wonders.I guess the bell is all we are playing for and pride.I still wish this game was for a conference championship like in the good old days.Here's hoping both teams come out of the game healthy and good to go for the playoffs.

With the insertion of the "general," this team is sparking. Just as it did with Bost. BJ did hit the ground around 12 times with maybe 3 of them being sacks. That isn't bad but a little more protection would help.

Honestly I don't know how good Brown really is as the conference is so weak however they have only lost 1 time against who they have to play. I don't see that changing this week in Kannapolis just because CHS has a "general". I guess KHS will have to muddle by with their sound defense and "decent" running game...whatever makes you sleep better...

Well I do know some great posters from Ktown. I don't think they taking game lightly. Aser for general, that is a leader of men. Jaydogg, maybe you should have used field general instead of just general. we have to be correct in our words here. Everyone knows that #31 from Ktown is the best back in the conference. To win, Concord will have to go air general. or general delivery. I just love this stuff

Preacher I never said the game was taken lightly just that it would probably not be the game that Concord(fans) thinks it will be. My post was more about the humor of Jaydogg's post though I do appreciate he is committed to his view. He said a 1 loss team is mediocre and a 4-6 team is not and in the same breath says they have a sound defense and "decent" running game. I would say that if Concord had a sound defense and decent running game that maybe they would have fewer losses. Brown has played the same conference foes and outscored evryone by over 23 points/game. Concord is -2/game over the same span. As I said the Spiders are playing better but I don't think the Wonders are playing worse. It's cool to back your school...go for it. Just don't come lazy across the middle and expect to keep your jock intact...

FWIW I am glad to see the rivalry alive and well. It was alive when I was in school but honestly Concord was irrelevant on the field from the time I was in 7th grade until several years after I graduated. EZ's return was able to even things out a bit. It's been many years since I have seen a KHS/CHS game but I still tell everyone it's the greatest high school rivalry game in the state. I hope to make it back to see one in the future. Here's to a well played injury free game.

There is no doubt that the spiders have their work cut out for them, but the spiders have some athletes on their team as well.  Since Beecher took over it is obvious that there are some good athletes on the offense at chs.  Jaydog is right if you bring the blitz that young QB will get the ball to one of these guys.  Watch Moore for a big game and or Posey.  That kid is lightning in a bottle and runs the ball with a lot of determination.  He is pretty versatile as well, he is a nice compliment coming out of the backfield.  What an option for Beecher and the offense.  KP will get themselves into trouble if they blitz, however if they sit back Beecher may sit in that pocket and throw for a ton of yards. 

The key to the game is if the CHS d, can slow down the KP offense.  From what I seen last week, they have a chance.  If they stifle that running game early and Beecher hits some big pass plays it is going to be mighty might interesting.  If not that RB from KP will rush for 300 yards and they will send the dogs after Beecher and it could get ugly.  The reason I think the Concord defense has a chance is because they have some DB's that are willing to stick their head in on run support and that can limit KP's big plays.  They may break off some nice 15 yard runs but they wont turn into 70 yard td's.  If they do it is going to be a long long night for the Spiders.

KP don't be fooled, CHS has nice athletes that can do big things with the ball in their hands....  It is gonna be up to Massey  to stay patient and try to pound the ball down their throat. 

Preacherman, this is the time of the year when the hair stands up on the back of my neck and I begin to howl at the moon!  LOL,   It is tough to be a former player realize that those days are over and you are back to being a fan. 

 If any players read this I want them to know that on Friday night you have a reservation at 7:30 pm.  During the next 2 to 2.5 hours you have the field reserved to make as many memories, as many plays, and to push as hard as you can.  You will never get it back.  Once the clock hits zero your reservation has ended and someone else begins their quest.  Go out there and live it up.  Get into the moment and believe in yourself and your teamates.  This is a special game and you are blessed wtih the opportunity to make everyone remember your name!  You can right the wrongs of the past, set the tone for the future and leave your mark on a rivalry that is unmatched in this area.  If your a CHS player, you can do something no one thought you could do.  All you have to do is hit the Wonders in the mouth and fight for your team.  You have the talent, you have the ability, so go out there prove all of the naysayers wrong.  Let them know your back, let them know that 0-6 is a memory.  Believe in yourself and your teamates and you wont be denied.
