What coaches may be on the Hot Seat after the 2012 season?  (2 votes)
Pure Speculation on my part but I bet these coaches and their staffs are feeling some heat.
AAAAA
Standefur-Alamogordo
Maestas- Highland
Zufall- Albq. High
AAAA
Smith- Chaparral
Areolla - Roswell (Goddard is 32-2 the last 3 years & Roswell High Alums want to win)
Jolley-Valencia

Highland coach for sure. I can't for the life of me figure out why they can't develop a power-house program. Come on Hornets !!! Is the problem for these high schools coming from the unprepared players coming up from middle school? All I recall is that Aztec finally became a contender when their middle school, Koogler, finally committed to football. Aztec runs the same offense from middle school up to high school. I understand that is the same model for Artesia's success.

What about Grants & Pius. I have heard a ton of preseason top 5 talk about them the last 2 years and no playoff wins to show for it. Are they on the hot seat to show some improvement soon?

Mesilla Valley could be dropping football so Mike Draper might be available. Pretty decent coach!

Mendoza at Pius has seen his best day(s)go by, the administration needs to get back to feeling good about football and stop worrying about soccer so much, either they don't care about football or Mendoza is running the school, saw 3 games this year and felt like they could have been something a whole lot more than what they were. Total lack of leadership or vision.

Good call on Albuquerque high, alamogordo, and Roswell. Cibola was surprising.

The 2012 season for Pius was a disaster. Mendoza has to go. He has no ability to leverage the great talent he gets every year. Maybe now that Judge Chavez is looking the administration at Pius will make a change and bring Chavez on.

Jolly of Valencia is not on the "hot seat," it's a "lukewarm" seat. He will look better next year as the incoming senior class has a lot more talent, as well as the kids that are going to be juniors next year. They have some very young size and speed. Next season he will look like a much better coach than he did this year.
