Notre Dame Message Boards
I found a ND message board and read through a thread about the NC game. Here are some of the gems in there...
Awful Pass defense
Honestly, the only person I am scared of on Alabama's offense is Amari Cooper.
It just seems that both ND and Bama stack up pretty evenly across the board in almost every category,
I believe they have a better running game than us, and we have a better passing game. That said, there's a greater discrepancy between the passing games than the running games.
I think there will be safety help over the top against Cooper. He is really there only receiving threat
Our quarterback, if he doesn't turn it over, is better than theirs, maybe significantly better. Our receivers also look more athletic than theirs, as a group anyway.
I am not sure that I would say that Alabama is clearly better than either Stanford or Oklahoma. Stanford's as tough, and Oklahoma's as fast or faster. Both are better than Georgia, even though Georgia is a good football team.
Alabama is VERY "simple" which is what Saban wants. They are a one-trick pony,
These are the only three games where Alabama faced a team that is currently ranked... unless we're counting Michigan, but I don't really want to count that one because of their "unique" offense.
Golson may be a smaller guy but he will have the strongest arm that bama has faced all year with maybe the exception of bray.

Re: Notre Dame Message Boards
While I find every single one of these points to be borderline comical, these are the two that stuck out the most to me. Alabama's AJ McCarron - 2669 yards, 26 TDs, 3 INT Notre Dame's Everett Golson - 2135 yards, 11 TDs, 5 INT While I really don't like seeing Alabama win its third national title in four years, it's almost worth it to see what's about to happen to Notre Dame. They have no idea what's coming. supergoose44 wrote: I found a ND message board and read through a thread about the NC game. Here are some of the gems in there...

Seen Nick on a back road the other day... he didn't seem too worried... he even employed a little help from a former Tide football player.

Re: Notre Dame Message Boards
QB's better than Golson that Bama has played: Murray, Bray, Russell, and Manziel. Wilson is better too IMO but he was out for the Bama game
I guess when seeing y'all's offense he completely missed Yeldon, Lacy, and the best offensive line in the country. Very rarely do I pull for Bama, but I hope they just completely embarass ND

RE: Notre Dame Message Boards
Don't get me wrong, I want 'Bama to win (and I think they will) but the game will be close. Anyone who says ND's defense is not good enough to keep it low scoring doesnt know footballll IMO.

The only team they've played with a legitimately good offense this year is Oklahoma and Landri Jones threw for over 350 yards. OK didn't have much on the ground but they don't have near the line or backs that Bama does

Re: Notre Dame Message Boards
If you really want to see some head-scratchers, look at the Heisman discussions from the Notre Dame boards. I've learned three things from it:
1) Manti Te'o deserves the award because he's a better person than the other two, and if he doesn't win, then the award is meaningless.
2) Johnny Football doesn't deserve to be up for the award because his team lost twice and because he got arrested last summer.
3) Te'o is the best defensive player in college football in the last 20 years.

Put me in the "doesn't know football" crowd then because I don't think it will be close. SMOKEDIVER wrote: Don't get me wrong, I want 'Bama to win (and I think they will) but the game will be close. Anyone who says ND's defense is not good enough to keep it low scoring doesnt know footballll IMO.

RE: Notre Dame Message Boards
"Close" is a subjective term, but I expect Bama to cover the spread which is anywhere from -9 to -10 right now.

Wow, it's like they took the stupidity found in our Political subforum and somehow transported it into the realm of Notre Dame fandom. Impressive.

RE: Notre Dame Message Boards
People all around the world call us "southerners" naive when it comes to football.... Well I'd say our track record says the rest of the country is just behind when it comes to football.

There was also the implication that SEC players are all on steroids. And that ND has a "destiny" that won't allow them to lose.
The funniest comment to me was the one where the guy said Michigan doesn't count as a currently ranked team because of their "unique" offense. What does that even mean?

RE: Notre Dame Message Boards
Notre Dame'S offensive will not score more than 1 touchdown at most against Bama's Defense. There Defense is pretty slow too. Not going to be close.
