Brand Name of Softball??

Is there any rule that the MHSAA has that tells the brand name of softball a team must use? I know the core has to meet specs but what about the name?

Go to the MHSAA web site, go to the news page and on the right side of the page there is a tab for game balls.  Click there and it list the ball that is to be used in all playoff and championship games for every sport.  MHSAA has a contract with Wilson.

I am sure tthat the MHSAA has just failed to change the date on the page, with their contract with Wilson it is a requirement.

Hmm, I really disagree with that rule. The state does not furnish the balls each home team does. As long as the core is correct the name should not matter. If they want to enforce a brand name because of a contract that doesn't benefit each school, then the state should furnish the balls.

They only require it during the playoffs.  During the regular season use any brand you want, and I agree the contract doesn't help any of the schools but it is what it is.noidea

WELL NOW, we all know that the," all knowing, big man in the chair, King of sports, Hail to the chief, Dictator in Clinton, is a NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, am I right? Well, we see that basketball and football get televised for their playoffs for championships and I suppose the kickback from Wilson softballs, baseballs, volleyballs and soccer balls go to pay for that. We are really pleased that we can help! Oh yeah, when I pay you my $$$ to get into the championships, don't try to sell me one of your crappy MSHSAA tee shirts for your non-profit organization as you all walk around in your logo-ed polo shirts.  Non-profit my aching butt!
