La Marque vs. Friendswood Thread

Coogs still hold a slim chance at the playoffs. Friendswood can record consecutive wins over LM for the first time.

Re: La Marque vs. Friendswood Thread

Seeing that LM will need three things to happen: Manvel lose, SF lose, and beat Friendswood, I think they have at least a punchers chance. I'm going out on a limb and saying Manvel will lose. I actually think the bigger problem will be SF losing than LM beating Friendswood. I'm going with LM 35-31. Needless to say, I dont have much faith in either teams defense. I think Dawson should beat SF, but who knows the way this district has gone all year. I'm not a big fan of a fourth team. It just seems too watered down to me. A team with a losing record in the playoffs?

Friendswood only allowed 152 yards to Dawson three weeks ago and 117 to Brazosport last week. So why no faith in the defense?

Even though Manvel needs a win for a shot at the playoffs, Angleton should win. It might be the closest game they play this year, due to the fact that they will be only playing for an undefeated regular season record and Manvel playing to extend their season. I'll say Angleton 31-21.

I see Dawson beating Sante Fe if the Indians come out like they did against Angleton. Angleton showed them some mercy emptying their bench midway through the 3rd quarter or it could have easily been 49-0. I'll say Dawson 24-14.

So that leaves LaMarque to upset Friendswood. It could happen, but they would need FWood to turn the ball over multiple times and LM to capitalize on them. I don't see that happening, but you never know.

From the "Brandon's Free Advice" Department:

Get the ball in Tim Wright's hands more than 10-12 times a game. If this kid played for Weddell or Walker, he'd be running away with the 24-4A rushing title. L'Reco Williams is a very good back as well...hell, I'd go Rocky II and go Southpaw on Apollo Creed in the 15th round and spring out the I formation with those two.

That said, it looks like Friendswood is starting to pick up the pace. If they go Division I, they could be dangerous, especially if Andrew Cole is 100 percent.

It won't be 69-48 but it won't be 17-14, either. I'm taking the team with its back against the wall...

LM 28-26.

RE: La Marque vs. Friendswood Thread

The odds are heavily in FWoods favor. LM has gotten progessively worse as the season  went.on. There is major finger pointing and calls to the Supt. about the HC. Maybe nothing will come of it, right now. LM is in a pickle  ie.. they want  a high profile coach who will take then deep into the post seaon dang near every year. The rise and fall of the Dynasty is real but a lot of people don't want to hear it .The surrounding areas with better housing and facilities with better ISD's will spell doom and put a  permanent halt to the Mighty Coogs stranglehold on RegionIII 4A football.
