How much longer will the rest of the state put up with
the cohusion between Gwinnett schools and GHSA. It's making a mockery out of high school athletics in this state. Is it fair to the rest of the state for Gwinnett to deal players and build teams like the Yankees? Do you know who's pocket is getting lined for renting the Dome?
If work can begin right away a new association can be in place within 2 years to replace the farce of GHSA. Let's put High School football back in High School Stadiums played by amateur high school players.

Speaking of "team building"......
Here we go again. Wildcats' best O-lineman being recruited.
Any bets on where he plays his senior season?

The Dome is located in the city of Atlanta. I'm not sure who's pockets are getting lined. Enlighten us. TheFaker wrote: the cohusion between Gwinnett schools and GHSA. Typical jug head from Gwinnett. Every statement's not about you though in the end Gwinnett us running the show. Lining the pocket comment was aimed at the Gwinnett puppet at GHSA.

Re: i hear momma has her hand out...
Big money is stealing blue chippers all over the state but Gwinnett leads the country. Well over 500 athletic transfers in the last physical year reporting period with NOT 1 athlete sitting out a year. All this in a county with 0 military bases and low industrial base. Gwinnett is destroying the amateur athlete notion in Georgia while GHSA turns a blind eye and lines it's pocket at the top! G winnett H igh S chool A ssociation MrPerusing wrote: i say let em walk.

If Gwinnett was running the show
the state basketball playoffs would be set up the same as football and baseball where the north and south cross over in the quarter finals of the state tournament. In basketball they don'r cross over until the semi finals. On the basketball board they complain that the GHSA is run by good old boys protecting south Georgia. Can't have it both ways. I get so tired of this transfer crap. I register students at a middle school of 1300 students. I have registered 230 students this year already and the school year is only half over. At the same time 260 have withdrawn to go elsewhere. We are half the size of the high schools in Gwinnett county. So that means a high school twice the size has enrolled around 460 new students and had around the same number leave. If you 25athletes that transfer into your school that's less then 6% of your new enrollment.

Re: If Gwinnett was running the show
Well i'll give you that you're a nut but not sure where golf plays into the equation. I have no idea what kind of school you work for but I'm employed at a high school and we've had less than 50 transfers in and out this school term. Some of the Gwinnett schools have that many varsity athlete transfers in a year.
You want to talk about basketball and baseball? When was the last time either sport made a red cent for a high school? When is the last time either one gathered 10,000 fans to watch a game? Football pays the bills at most schools outside of metro and the puppet GHSA which is owned by Gwinnett County has taken the biggest money maker away. Is Columbus, Valdosta, Moultrie, Camden, Warner Robins, Thomasville and dozens of other cities not paid their dues in state athletics? Do these fans and communities deserve a shot at hosting championship games and getting an economic impact from such?

Re: If Gwinnett was running the show
I work at one of the feeder schools to Norcross HS. What high school do you work at. If it's not in the metropolitan Atlanta area then there is a reason why you have only had 50 in and out. When you live in a dense area like metropolitan Atlanta there is alot more movement for a variety of reasons. WE are within 5 miles of 3 other middle schools. A parent moves across the to a different apartment complex across the stree and they have to move. Students who live within 100yards of Norcross HS are zoned for Duluth MS. 99% of the students at Norcross live farther away then that. When an area is that dense you are going to have alot more movement. The Georgia Dome is in Fulton county. So wouldn't they have taken the biggest money maker away. Dekalb, Clayton, Henry, Coweta, Rockdale and Fayette county are also closer to the dome then Gwinnett County so I'm not sure how Gwinnett makes out. I already told you that Norcross only had 9 move ins on their football team this year and only one starter. You need to really come up with facts and stop your whining.

Re: These towns/cities have lost untold amounts....
It's time to dissolve GHSA and put Georgia High School Athletics back into the hands of the people that run our schools. Every high school that participates in high school football has a stadium. Why in the heck are we paying a 3rd and 4th party to sanction and host what we've hosted all year. I agree, a lot of money that's hard to come by these days is being squandered. Things need to change and change quick. G winnett H igh S chool A ssociation MrPerusing wrote: Im thinking a smart Attorney could make some serious change off this.

I surely don't think much of an antiquated organization...
that thinks nothing of leaving BOOfart in AAA, when they have fifty times the talent level of the other AAA members!!! And those AAA yokles are too naive to see that they are pissing in the wind, if they think that they have a rat's ass chaince in HELL, of keeping the wild dogs from winning the next fifty state titles!!! EXHIBIT A, BOOfart, with twenty new starters wins the AAA state championship, and loses to the AAAAA state champions early in the year for FOUR points!!! And the GHSA sees NOTHING wrong with the playing field!!!

Re: If Gwinnett was running the show golfnut
Actually I agree except with one statement....the basketball board complains about the GHSA being run by football guys who do not really give a sh-t about basketball....don't get me wrong we know football is the straw that stirs the drink, but basketball is the one sport other than football that if run properly can be self sufficient fiscally....plus Rest assured the transfer issue is a hot topic between north and south on the b ball boards too...just not limited to complaints about g net

Re: If Gwinnett was running the show
Obviously you work at a school in South Georgia where NOBODY wants to live. TheFaker wrote: Well i'll give you that you're a nut but not sure where golf plays into the equation. Proceed with caution. This post may be dripping with sarcasm.

Spreading your lies again I see. Show us the documented proof!
You can keep telling all the lies you want to try to support your unsupportable position and all you do is come across as bitter that your program, what ever it is as you won't tell anyone, isn't doing well. I and others keep asking you where is your documentation to prove your point? I guess your name is very appropriate.

Poot breath you've read the article in AJC that supports what everyone already knew about the cheating and recruiting in Gwinnett County.

Same with Valdosta, LaGrange, Carrollton, Marietta, Dublin, Thomasville, and others. All can bring in players wherever they can find them. If the aforementioned are not meeting their fans expectations, it's a coaching issue. Valdosta has almost all of South georgia to pull from. And you were the one bitching about Don Golden and others playing in Winnersville rather than whinersville aka Moultrie. And a happy New Year to you braindead dumbazz
