You're more right than you realize

You're more right than you realize

Yes, Pierce was great, and IMO should've gotten first today.  But that's just the tip of the iceberg.  A squad with 12 girls, all tumbling, no stunt difficulty, goes to the mat.  A squad whose pyramid fell apart, gets called to the mat.  Meanwhile, squads in the stands who try to do it right, get lowballed on their scores.

Dear GHSA, with this new rubric, you are ruining the sport I love.  disbelief

It's not any squad's fault..

It's the people who are in charge.  Not trying to bag on any squad, but what merely demonstrating examples of what I saw wrong.

Read my posts farther down the page under poor results. Once again it holds true in the state competition just like the regions. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth about the overall state of the sport and its crediability

Is that I see poor judging as a violation of one of my basic sports premises.  Equality of opportunity.  That when you compete, you have an opportunity to succeed if you execute to the best of your ability.  Sure things happen, but usually you have a chance to succeed if you do your best.

In cheerleading, the poor rubric and poor, untrained judges pretty much wrecks that concept far too often.  The athletes suffer.
