Georgia Dugout Club Top 100

Can anybody give me the lowdown on the top 100. Is it worth the effort? What is the format like? Etc....? Just weighing the pro and cons. Thx.

Yes, it is worth the effort if your son is a true athlete. Be objective and don't waste your money if your son doesn't have a fighting chance to play in college. The format is like most other showcases. After warmups the OF will field 2 fly balls and 2 ground balls and throw to third and to home. All throws will be gunned. The IF will throw 4 ground balls from deep SS and throw to first. These throws are gunned too. They will be timed running from 1st to 3rd. And they will be timed in the 60. They will take about 8 swings of BP. Pitchers throw a bullpen. If they are chosen they will play 2 games in front of at least 60 scouts representing a bunch of schools from the Southeast. I think this was one of the main catalyst for getting my son "on the map." Good luck.

Yes...

Especially if you make the Top 100. The final Top 100 event is heavily scouted.

Don't waste your money they know who they want before you go. Your $100 just goes to fund the Dugout Club.

Kind of like a hair cut at Paris Island. Next,.... Not even sure the coaches are watching half the time. I know a lot of people really like it but my experience with it was not to hot. Kinda felt like I could have just mailed my donation in.

Yes , it is worth it . Exposure is a good thing . If your son has tools , he will get noticed .

My son did it and looked good and wasn't selected. If you are not exceptional and i mean 9o mph on the gun and sub 7.0 sixty and /or blasting the fences you probably won't get picked

I know it had to be a great experience for your son to at least attend.

But I can assure you that there are not many at ALL high school pitchers who throw 90+ fastballs. Trust me. I would venture to say that even the top tier are 86-88.

Was not impressed. Knew at least a dozen kids there, some better than others. The 60 times were slow for a couple of kids I knew, and really didn't think it was a great showcase. There was a South GA HS coach there who was VERY involved and several kids from his team were there, and miracuously, one of his kids made top 100 and for the life of me, I don't know how. I watched the entire tryout and never even noticed him. Another from the same team made it, and he wasn't even there to TO. Maybe he attended another TO across the state. Anyway, it was our third showcase event so far, and the least impressive, especially from a scouting perspective.

I was not impressed by the GA Top 100. I took 2 young men (my son and a team mate). The times and scores they were quoted at the showcase were not the same as what was posted online. I feel the numbers were tweeked to get in the kids they wanted. Don't waste your money!

GA Dugout is not a true top 100 because many of the top players play on travel teams involved in the perfect game and other tournaments. Some teams don't allow their players to attend these workouts.
I don't see Kyle Carter, Matthew Crownover etc..so I would not put a lot of stock in top 100..not taking anything away from it
