Re: Columbus- Lee Co scrimmage

yeah, Columbus was loaded. They are 5-6 deep in Quality starters it appears and I believe I saw roughly 15 different guys get an ab and all but 2 looked Varsity level. regardless of class, I can't imagine anyone else in the State with as much talent. Hats off to them, they should challenge for State Championship this year.

On a side note, hats off to Lee staff for playing younger guys majority of the game. He pulled majority of starters after 3 and let younger guys cut their teeth the rest of the way against competition they wouldn't normally see till next year.

CHS is becoming to baseball what Buford is to football. Its hard for public schools with traditional zoning to compete with schools who have basically open zoning plans. CHS gets to choose the best baseball players from a county with somewhere around 200K residents. The GHSA really focused on the private schools in the recent classification process but these schools pose just as much competition issues. If Muscogee County had traditional boundaries , I seriously doubt all those players would be at CHS. Most teams in AAA come from counties with less than half of Muscogee's population.
