Best team defense I've seen this year. They're not the best shooting team but they dribble penetrate well, create turnovers ,and play 32 minutes.

Re: memorial?

Just my opinion...Brentwood has no chance against Memorial...Frederica could pull out a win if Memorial has a bad game and Frederica has a good game.

This is not taking anything away from Brentwood. They are a very good team and would probably be the best in that region if you take away the whole "G.O.A.L." scholarship and other "supposedly legal transfer tactics."

But based on this season and what I have seen, Memorial and FPCA seem to be the best in their region with Frederica a very close 3rd.

If there were tougher rules and regulations on transfers and scholarships, Brentwood would win their region this year.

Not so sure Fan.....If Brentwood has a good plan and sticks to it I believe hey can stay with Memorial. Not so sure about FPCA though, they were VERY quick. Agree 200% on th GOAL issue.  Good Luck Sat. to Brentwood

Re: memorial?

What is the deal with everyone saying Memorial is somehow cheating. I've been hearing this argument for over 15 years now and I would assume that if they were doing anything wrong the GISA would come down on them. But for some reason the higher ups haven't seen anything wrong with what Memorial is doing. And now to the topic of the thread I don't think Brentwood has a chance to beat Memorial. My spread on the score at Brentwood is still Memorial by 12.

Brentwood is better in transition, half court game isn't very good. They'll have to shoot well to beat Memorial, and play better defense .They can win this game, but they'll have to pick it up a notch .

Re: memorial?

Take away G.O.A.L? GOAL is not the issue. Memorial, FPCA, and Frederica are just clearly better teams. Brentwood was lucky to pull a win against FPCA which was largely caused by bad officials coupled with an overly confident team who thought they didn't need to show up to win. I assure you that will not happen a second time (minus the bad officials, which seems to be a big issues throughout 2AA).

Now for your other claim- "supposedly legal transfer tactics." I do not know where you get your rumors, but you should not try to pass them off as factual unless you have some type of proof other than just a feeling. i can only speak on one of the three school, but the G.O.A.L program nor transfers have anything to do with the talent on the court.

The fact is the best basketball in the GISA is in the this area (where has been for years). Either the other teams need to train harder and longer to keep up or they need to accept the reality of losing to these teams year in and year out.

Re: memorial?

Now that I have seen all 4, I would say FPCA is the best team in the region. They have shooters, slashers, defense, and depth. I don't know if GOAL or transfers is the difference, but I believe the AAU connection matters.

Memorial and Frederica is a toss up but I would give the 2nd spot to MDS mainly due to depth. FA is good but don't think their bench can compete with MDS or FPCA.

Brentwood is solid. Not much size but well coached and quick. FPCA was without several players when Brentwood beat them. Don't think they have enough offense to compete for the Region title.

Probably splitting hairs with this group and wouldn't be shocked to see all of the 4 go deep in the state playoffs. Get a chance to see FPCA and Frederica again this weekend.

Re: memorial?

So your just going to count out Trinity and EBA? That doesn't make much sense. Trinity knocked off Frederica a few days ago and EBA played Frederica tough.

Brentwood, Trinity, Frederica, and EBA all have a shot at the 3/4 spots in the state tourney

RE: memorial?

What have they shown in region play that merits their consideration? Nothing against the schools. The teams just aren't ready to challenge the other 4 teams yet.

An 18 point and 14 point loss isn't close.. 5 to 7 may be more impressive..tsa and EBA don' t have the bench or skill level to be competitive with these guys this year...but you never know what can happen at region..some crazy upsets in years past..everyone needs to take games seriously...good luck to all teams at region and hopefully region 2AA goes far playoffs
