Who should Toombs County choose for our head coach?
Just curious who people want. Everybody knows I wanted Todd Cooper, but since he didn't apply, I just can't think of a better choice than L.M. Guy from those who have supposedly applied for the job.

This shouldn't be close. Guy is your man. Trust me. Before he took over RH it was a disaster. He's got them to respectability.

I see from the AAA Board that the Jackson Coach is available. Proven winner.

I think Guy is the man for the job. Took a team that hadnt made the playoffs since 96 to the playoffs in 3 seasons. Got players lifting consistently and into a year round program. Their two QBs power clean 320lbs. Runs a 7 on 7 league weekly in summer. Brings in combines. Works recruiting hard for his players. Character and leadership deveopment program has worked wonders.

That says it all. LM Guy is top notch. As I stated before I believe the man is underrated....but not for long. dfitz just made you a great sales pitch....I concur! dfitz01 wrote: I think Guy is the man for the job. What about Flott from Long or one of his coordinators. They have done a great job with that trainwreck.

I agree dfitz, but you're acting as if you want him to leave RH. You guys should be begging him to stay. I don't understand why you would get on here and promote him like you do, but you've got me convinced. Thank you!

I count him as a friend and want the best for him and his family. Our trainwreck of a BOE wont take care of him

Too bad your son couldn't follow L.M. over here to Toombs Co., if he gets the job. I noticed he is a good football player after watching the Ware Co. @ RHill and RHill @ WR games. Didn't I hear them say that your son would take over as QB next year? http://www.playonsports.com/events/45728http://www.playonsports.com/events/43339

The only one I've noticed that was supportive was vtown. Everybody else has stayed out of it.

Yes he is supposed to take over at qb. Our fingers crossed that if Guy leaves we will get a decent coach.

Re: The rivalry's never boring....
And this may seem strange to some but I actually like to see both teams do well. The better the teams the bigger the crowds, the intensity and the sweeter the wins. I think it just bodes well for both communities as far as publicity when these 2 meet for say the Region title.

Eric Soliday would be a great choice if he was to apply. No one has even mentioned the name, but has been a good coach.

Re: Who should Toombs County choose for our head coach?
We were all fired up about him five years ago and it didn't pan out. Soliday has went 10-3, 1-9, 5-6, 3-7 and 6-5 in the five years since Williamson has been here. That's not that great. Even ladybella was fired up about us possibly getting him as our coach.

Who do you want, toon? There's a lot of folks who have been touting L.M. Guy so, why are you so pessimistic?

Re: Who should Toombs County choose for our head coach?
I think we need a proven winner with experience to get us back where we need to be from the feeder program up we got to have some one that knows how tho teach fundementals and teach the game and can bring some stableability . just think we can do lots better then guy' mike, parris that just resign at jackson would be a good choice look flotts at long like some one said earlier be a good choice look at where he has been and what he had to work with key what he has to work with just ask around lyons at some of rtca faith that know a little about football what they think bout guy they don't want him back

Re: Who should Toombs County choose for our head coach?
He won two state championships and two runners-up state championships in seven years at RTCA and I would venture to say that the majority of folks from RTCA and Toombs Co. would love to have him back. He turned RH into a winner in just two seasons and into the playoffs in just three seasons and they should have beaten Ware Co. (lost by three in the last seconds of the game), Effingham Co. (lost by two on the road in the last part of the game) and Warner Robins (lost by two by a FG in the last seconds of the game on the road). He's definitely done a good job at those two programs despite the "butting heads" comments.

This is driving me nuts!!
I remember in 2007 after Stroud left, we were all dissapointed but soon after we were getting all excited about the possibilities. Lots of names were being thrown around and expectations were high. Then I heard we got Williamson from Sboro. Wow-didn't see that coming but what the hey..he did OK while he was there. The lowest point for me was 2011 when the DAWGS became the region doormat. I just wonder if we will get another complete surprise that no one has even thought about. I just want our BOE and committee to really look at the situation, leave no stone unturned and make a good decision. Our players, fans and community deserve for the people making this decision to make a smart choice. We are at a critical point where the football program could go either way down or blossom into one of the best in the state. Do the right thing, hire the right head football coach, pay extra and make him the AD.
