A tradition is a little more than 10 years of "transfers".

Re: Gwinnett County continues tradition of dominance
There are 18 Gwinnett County Public High Schools in Gwinnett County. 17 of those are in regions 7 & 8 AAAAAA. 1 is in Region 8-AAAA (Lanier). Gwinnett County also contains 1 City school system (Buford) and several private schools (GAC, Wesleyan and Hebron). Students must go to the school in which district (cluster) that they reside. There is however a Permissive Transfer policy that allows students to go to other county schools, but is limited to space available. The schools in Gwinnett county that allow permissive transfers are: Archer HS Dacula HS Duluth HS Lanier HS Mountain View HS Shiloh HS South Gwinnett HS
Of course students from anywhere could go to the private or city schools as long as they are accepted and pay the Tuition. The Tution for Buford is 2,000 per year while the private schools ranges fro 12,000 - 20,000 per year. There are actually a substantial amount of Gwinnett County kids that play for St. Pius as well.
Also if you choose to go to another school outside your cluster, you must provide transportation and not have any discplinary action or excessive absenteeism/tardiness

Re: Gwinnett County continues tradition of dominance
As far as the Gwinnett county schools go, unless you physically move to another district you can only transfer to one of the other schools listed above.

RE: Gwinnett County continues tradition of dominance
Never heard of any of those schools winning state title. Would that be because all of their good players transfer or pay to go to Buford?

RE: Gwinnett County continues tradition of dominance
Those are the Gwinnett County Schools you can transfer to. You can't transfer to Norcross, Grayson, Brookwood, Peachtree Ridge, North Gwinnett and so on, unless you physically move into that Cluster (district). Do good players transfer to Buford? Yes, they do. Buford, Wesleyan and GAC are not bound by the same rules as Gwinnett County. Each school system has their own rules in regards to transfers.

The vast majority of tuition paying students at Buford enroll in grades 6-8. It's kind of hard to pick out superior athletes at that age. I've talked with a woman that lives in Dacula and pays tuition for 6 kids for them to attend Buford. The closest athlete is a cheerleader. Some parents just want to send their kids to the best school they can afford. That just happens to be Buford. Quit your complaining already, it's getting old.

If you have to pay 2,000 a year to attend buford then how is it a public school? And something else isnt it funny that buford only charges 2,000 a year instead of 14,000 or more like most private schools.Thats because they know that if they charge 14,000 thousand a year that most of the elite athletes that they get wont be able to afford it.
